A Thai worker in Israel was injured in a rocket attack close to the border with the Gaza Strip, the Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

Sathien Bunrith from Phibun Rak district in Udon Thani became the third Thai casualty in continuing clashes in the Middle East when he was injured in the rocket strike while working in Israel. He was sent to Soroka Hospital.

Minister Counsellor Monchai Phatchanee of the Thai embassy in Israel had informed his family about the incident, the ministry added.

The two other workers previously injured and who received medical treatment were identified as Poey Charoenying and Surapoj Butprom.

The embassy has moved 328 Thais to safer areas within Israel.
