4 prisoners escape from Udon Thani Police station
On August 7, 2006 8 AM at Udon Thani Police Station, Police have reported that 4 prisoners have escaped the Udon Thani prison.
The escaped prisoners’ names are as follows:
1. Mr.Sareutkan Boonchisorn, 23 years old, who is lives in Takuntho District, Kalasin Province (Caught using and selling amphetamines).
2. Mr.Dong Tub-arsa, 22 years old who lives in Sriboonreang District, Nongbua lamphu Province, (Robbery accusation).
3. Mr.Phaisan Kairit , 22 years old who live in Wungsammuo District, Udon Thani Province, (Robbery accusation).
4. Mr.Arnon Rungreang, 28 year old who live in Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi Province, (Robbery accusation) .
All of them was caught selling amphetamines in front of Bangkok Bank in Rayong City, on July 7, 2005. Then they were transfered to Say Mai Police station, BKK. From July 21, 2005 they have been contained at Udon Thani prison.
3 of the four other prisoners were already wanted by police as they were connected to several robberies.
They worked togther as a team to help cut the iron of jail.
Niphon Charienpeng (police) said during the night of August 6, 2006 he and his friend Sunan worrapan were on duty in front of the jail but Sunan went home early because he recieved news that his Father had died. This left Niphone alone on duty that night. At 3 AM of August 7, 2006, Atnarong Chamchen, head of Udon Thani prison did his usual check of all prisoners and everything was fine. At around 5 AM, Mr. Supol Paina, a prisoner, told him that all 4 prisoners had disappeared.
After the dissapearance, Sittiporn Nonejui told them that there was a pick up truck parked next to the jail so it is believed that somebody must have knew their plan. There is only closed circuit camera in front of the jail.
The jail of Udon Thani Police Station is 3 meters high. They used several tools, which were dropped in the prison by an outside source, to contruct a wire ladder to escape the prison.
The head of Udon prison found an empty of a can of beer between the table and jail. Mr.Chareinpen accepted that he drunk a can of beer on duty but he didn’t get drunk.
Kamanut Sukjarean, The head director of Udon Thani Police Station said the prisoners might escape to Laos because of contacts with an amphetamine agency in Laos.
