1 month apartment rental.

Postby Thomo » August 30, 2006, 7:46 pm

I'm leaving this rather late as I'm arriving tommorrow.

I'm just looking for an apartment for 1 month. Normal situation - cable TV, internet, hot water, bathroom etc about 5000k(or under), plus all the bills.

I've read about AEK hospital(?) apartments, Jimbo's - the aussie dude's place and Lutos condotel (for 2500K).

I'd prefer someplace central and have no idea where any of these places are. AEK's sounds the best as jimbo's only says 'Air-con room 4000K' with no other info (they didn't speak english on the phone).

I'm hopping on the bus from Khon Kaen in the morning and will check up before I leave. If anyone can give any advice or recommendations t'would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Thomo.

Hi Thomo, welcome to the forum.I have no personal knowledge of anywhere but yesterday was talking to the Thai lady boss of Jan Condotel, its located in the soi directly opposite the museum, offers according to her, en-suite, cable tv, fridge, ADSL internet access, 24hr security and room service. Shes married to an Englishman so speaks good EnglishTel 042329223-7
Rooms look nice in brochure, no idea of monthly rate but would think about the top end of your budget..

I just rang Jan Condotel and they charge 6500B p/m, which seems ok. I just met a yank dude who made a face and told me AEK is 'a fair bit from the town... you'll see'. He was a bit odd tho'.

I'll just take a look around at them (and Udon) myself once I can leave my bags at the bus station.

Cheers.

AEK is shown on the map (map ref P14) and is about one kilometre from the complex.

Jan Condotel is not shown on map (approx map ref H10) and is on a narrow soi between Phosi Road & Srisuk Road (this soi which is opposite the museuem is not shown on the map either), it is about two kilometres from the complex. An italian restaurant is shown on the map on the next soi heading towards the complex, but it closed and moved to the night market.

Just a tip. Before booking a whole month, book one night with an option to change to a month. there may be some anti social activity after dark and you don't want to be committed for a month.

Yep, that's all sorted. Spending 1 night in 'Top Mansion', THB310 per night, nice place for a few days but would'nt spend any longer there. Not at THB8000 per month anyway.

AEK looks fantanstic. 5000K p/m for the best looking apartment i've ever seen in that price range. 5000k deposit, 100B for water and 5B per unit of electricity. Brand new apartment, UBC full bedding etc. Cheap eh. No internet access tho'. The motor bike taxi's will take you there for 20B from the bus station.

There website is www.AEKUDONAPARTMENT.COM

haven't checked that out tho'.

So one last question on this type of topic.

Motorbike rental. The one place I saw(without looking) wanted 4000K p/m (next to the complex). Anyone know of a place that does it cheaper. the Chiang Mai rate of 2500K would be more like it.

Cheers.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. So anyone know of a place? (with motorbikes - price range irrelevant)

Cheers.

Ok if you can find the tuk tuk manufactor downtown I'm told across the street is a place that rents bikes for somewhere around 150 a day, please keep in mind this is very old information and I'm not sure but worth a tuk tuk drive. I think the further away from the complex the better the price is going to be.

Jingjoes's Apt is very good

Postby ttom » January 13, 2007, 5:50 pm

Yes, the apartments at AEK are very nice. But they do not provide internet connections to the room. You can use internet from hospital (if there is any seat availible).

Jingjoes might be an good alternative, and with around 4 000 monthly ery affordable. Just ring Khun Tik.

Jingjoe's is at the same road as AEK, further down towards Big C, quite opp. NB Hotel.

Jingjoes is clean and comfortable. I like it a lot and stay there as often as I can. You can use ADSL internet from your room if you have a laptop of from the bar.

I stay in NT Apartment right now... I am trying to rent the first 2 nights before rent 1 month ... but:

4500 months without cleaning .... add 200 baht each time you want to clean
elettric 7 baht
