Yes rain the only hope now - fair weather & the game could easily be over before lunch today. :( :(
Worse is the fact that England look a shambles going into the final test. Will look up the stats later but from something I saw on TV yesterday the top 5 batsmen in the series so far are all Australian :( :(

Embarrassing.

One of the most inept performances I've seen for a long time. Thinking that me getting re-connected to Home Cable to watch the cricket was a big mistake. :( :(

The figures so far are pretty damming .

Australia's figures
http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/rec ... ype=series

England's figures
http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/rec ... ype=series

No further comments necessary from me..... :(

Certainly England need Flintoff available for the next Test.
Surely Bopara must go.....replace him with that young guy Moores who hit a century against the Aussies earlier in the season and bat Strauss at no.3 ?
Failing that, its maybe recall Key but he's hardly set the world alight before and is a cumbersome fielder.
Both Collingwood and Anderson have had shockers this match but I'd retain them as with Swann instead of Panesar.
If Flintoff is back then its between Onions and Harmison for the last bowling place.
Really England havent got too many options have they !
Only Prior and Broad have played anything like this match.....Priors had a pretty good series really.

If u look at another statistic Bob, , i think it sums up what most the the last 4 posts have all stated.

Drop him, retain him, etc

The numbers on their shirts represent how many people have tests etc

Eng are up to 630 odd , so thats how many have played for England, the Aussies creeping up to 400.

Indicates not just a poor season for someone, or an injury.

It shows ( IMO ) that the entire selection process , cricketing academy, county standards, all contributing to not having a good squad, capable of staying together for 5 years etc.....

Try him, knee jerk selection to a poor tour ,

Hussain when as Captain summed it up years ago , when he broke his finger and couldnt play the next test and nobody wanted to step in as skipper, they had Stewart, Atherton, all in the side from memory. Steve Waugh stated, if he broke his finger, 10 others would crawl over his back for the chance.

England 199-7....unbeaten partnership of 79 between Broad and Swann.
Broad 52* off only 42 balls.
If only these two can put on another 400 we've a chance

Now 100 partnership off 70 balls. They are throwing the bat & riding their luck (admittedly right on the boundary). Now 228 - 7 they are both showing just how bad the English "Batsmen" were......

oooops 228 -8 Broad out for 61 off 48.....

Bit of a shambles from the umpires at the minute. Certainly had a 7 ball over (Bowden with his ridiculous signals, may have signalled a 5 no balls) then we get a certain 5 ball over, now we nearly had another 7 ball over - bowler was back at the start of his run up ball in hand before they spotted it.
238 - 8 Swann has his 50....
Broad top scorer followed by Swann (who might over take him yet) in BOTH of England's innings....

Hey it isn't over yet Marmite, Harmison could still sneak it with getting England to 80 in front and then getting 10 for 20 in the Ausssie second innings...... :D :D :D

Remember 1981....England still needing 95 to avoid an innings defeat and 7 wickets down.
Botham makes 149,Dilley 56 and I think even Willis made 20 ?
Aussies set just 131 to win all out for 111.....Willis 8-42.
I bet wazza still remembers those cricketing days with a fondness ! :D

England 263 all out....Australia win by an innings and 80 runs......Series level 1-1 with one game to play.
But from 120-7 we gave the Aussies a thrashing today didnt we ! :D

Can spend 2 days retracing their family roots back to England and can update their family tree to show who their relatives were before their discarded family arrived on the ships to the land of Oz. 8)
