9-11 Information ---- NON debatable please

I use my cell phone in flight all the time text voice whatever and have since pre 911. You are not supposed to do it but rules and me don't work well. But yes your cell phone can and will work if you've got signal bars it works plane or no plane try it it fun and naughty at the same time.

For the 50% of New Yorkers believing something or not who cares 50% of New Yorkers are completely wacked anyway. I think its funny how people use F up opinion polls to support a F up argument.

Work as a Thai, and see how you like that.

Why? Because, you can't, and you will never do it. Lastly, it is all the money you have left to survive the rest of your years, and for some the rest of you months or weeks.

Thaitanium I agree with alot of what you said as I am an American thru and thru.I believe everyone should have the opportunity to voice their opinion like it or not whether we agree or disagee.I too do not (At All)like someone dispalying their Avatar upside down of the American Flag and feel it is very disrespectful and un called for regardless if they didn't like the previous administration! It is now their administration in power and lets see if they are worthy?I would guess that someone who would display the flag upside down also burnt their draft card and lit the flag on fire in previous years also in demonstartions but for some reason was never happy with any administation.If it were a poster from another country displaying the U.S. Flag in this way it would be very offensive and not acceptable at all but being an American is even more sad and I wish they wouldn't display it this way! Bob, Its not distress its extreme distress like my ship is sinking. As a political statement I thinks it disrespectful. I guess you can get cute with meanings but I should not expect too much.

I must agree with BobHelm, that flying the flag upside down is a sign of distress not disrespect. But I will acknowledge that to some it may mean something totally different. It is all in the perspective of the person viewing the the Avatar.

thank you Bob, although i suspect it may fall on deaf ears. flying the flag as i do, as a proud yank, and using one of my basic freedoms, guaranteed by my forefathers, one family member signing the declaration, and also taking advantage or simply using the benefits i worked and paid for, along with my employers, seems patriotic enough for me. thank you very much.

Why is the US Flag diplayed Upside Down?



The upside down U.S. flag is an official signal of distress. It is not meant to be, and is not officially recognized as any type of disrespect when so displayed for the right reasons. To the contrary, here is the relevant part of the US Code of Laws regarding how to fly the flag when in distress:

Approved July 7, 1976

§ 176. Respect for flag: No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.

Most individuals who have served in the military service of our nation will (or should) recognize this signal.

this freedom of expression can only be surpassed by the burning of the flag, if one so chooses, though i doubt if i ever would, as you/we have the right to express ourselves, if a yank...................try that here. oh yes, another freedom, burning the draft card, actually, i enlisted in the army.

the only thing i find offensive in the usa, is rap music. the rest is the combined effort or lack of it's citizens to actually care. as they say here 'som nam na' ......... instead of worrying about me flying my flag upside down, worry about WHY.

WHY DO I FLY IT UPSIDE DOWN................................well, if you are an american, a patriot, and have to ask, or don't think the country, after two bush administrations, preceeded by daddy bush, then there is nothing i can say to change your mind or help you understand.

It's clearly your right to fly the flag as you wish. I just like some sensable limits self imposed control is part of people getting along and displaying a distress signal is just not cool as speach any more then yelling fire in a crowded theater. Some things in my world actualy mean what they are supposed to mean without cute interpretations.

i think if more people displayed their flag upside down, or at least cared, took the time to write their congress person, and vote, or not vote the same career politician into office, then there may be no need to express myself in this manner. if i have to explain it......................................

until recently, how many americans had passports, only now to travel in the americas. how many actually vote, or worst, vote without having a clue to the issues. how many write their congress person when displeased with their voting record, against their campaigning promises, then re-elects them. let's be realistic, GW Bush got re-elected, how could that even be possible in an intelligent voting society. usa set aside UN consensus, for the 3rd time, korea and vietnam, 2 other major one, where they ignored UN resolutions of peace treaties.............they worked out good also. we invaded a sovereign country for no reason, not false intell, fake intell, because the french and germans and UN had the proper intell, thus not backing the invasion and occupation and genecide that followed. can't wait till we leave, the usual cut and run, when we should of never been there. at least it will be easy to change the name, just change that last letter. one shiite nation. and a bit more genecide.

Us Brits always have a little titter or even a guffaw when some Nugget raises the Union Flag upside down, it's normally down to muddled thinking.

I myself succeeded in raising the Royal Air Force ensign upside down in Cyprus a few years ago, I think the only one in distress was me because I could imagine myself being hauled up in front of the Grown Ups for a stiff ticking off...never mind, just one of a plethera of c0ck ups I've made throughout the years.

george walton, good ol' boy from georgia, though i was born and raised in philly, so someone in the family did some travelling. maybe he had a mia noi in philly, keep him warm while signing.

mother always told us that, a relative, though didn't take much stock in it, till one brother did a family trace, all the way back to uk roots. couple generations on mother side, her maiden name was Fox, then my great uncle was Walton. apparently they had extensive land holdings in the brandywine and philly suburb area. even the one street in my hometown was named after a relative, i found out years later when applying for a job out in brandywine area. the interviewer turned out to be a distant relative, when talking about where i was from, mentioned the street and his family, then mentioned he still had relative in the area, that great uncle of mine, then we spent a half hour talking and realizing we were related, talk about strange. found out half ma's distant relatives were millionaires..........damn, and me a pauper, family outcast, guess she married the wrong idiot. got the job though, but had to turn it down, embarrassingly, as it meant driving from philly to new york, and at the time, my driver's license was suspended, just a matter of time before stopped by NJ state trooper on the way up, as lost do to speeding, sooner or later they would catch me, so declined. definitely didn't need that kind of hassle, was hoping for a local drving job, could get anything fixed locally.

as for giving up my pension sorry I paid for mine with my blood & sweat and I am not surrendering it to any Government to waste on phony wars and WMD we don't need or want just to line the Defense contractors pockets.
