Joy used to be at the City Lodge in its original and best incarnation (when Andy was there) and has retained the best of what she learnt.

@Frans
If you're economizing, you'd be better off just taking an overnight bus to Udon. You should be able to make the one leaving out of BKK in the evening. Alternatively, you can make your way to Morchit bus station and get an overnight bus to Udon from there. IMHO, the train is NOT the way you'd want to go. Chuck the LP book if that is where you are getting that idea from. ;)

Hallo Khondahm,

Thanks fore always be so helpful.

The economizing is not filled to the end ;-)

I think I’m able to comfort myself with a taxi fare and a second or first class sleeper.

1Time I have take the night train from Hualampong, And the trip was quit nice, Restaurant wagon where I could smoke, This was in the end of January 2009.

The most urgent reason why I look fore other transportation is, I don’t like to wait 3 to 4 hours in the airport (if not necessary) and then take a night bus fore about 8 hours drive with just 1 stop between, Then arriving in early morning (5AM) have to bargain with taxi drivers :-(

But if no other means off transportation the same day is found, I take the night bus, Because I have give my word to Joy that I arrive on 19 November morning.

Fore the ticket reservation the online ticket reservation is temporally out of working and the e-mail ticket reservation is not so sure ;-)

My mean concern is; would there be a chance fore a free place?

With kind regards,

Frans

In the AEK hospital building.
None of the above, however as the UD Town complex is just across the (busy !!) road that is of little consequence.
That does include a full size Tesco, if not Big C. :D
The centre (if The Centra Complex is to be considered that) is walkable, especially at this time of the year. However, the 'life' of Udon has possibly moved this way as UD has developed.
It is also worth noting that the Centra side of the centre of town is very much a building site at the moment. So there are pavements destroyed, noise & dust & entrances closed at the moment.

Hallo Meat,

Iff you open there web-site you see all the amenities the have in the building, laundry, coffee bar, restaurant, a kind of 7/11 shop. And in the building you find ATM, internet cafe in the basemant, a giftshop, have wireless internet Etc.

And yes you can walk to Big C, I have done it Monday morning, But never again ;-) I came back to Aek Udon with the yelow jeepney 10 Bath.

As i don,t have car or motorbike by myself, i do mostly walking and the interestet things are verry close by.

Fore the rest bus&jeepney's go to every direction.

And yes the meanroad to cross can be busy some moments of the day, but not hard to cross becaurse farther up you have trafic lights, so there is alway,s a few hundreds meters open between the cars if the light turn on red

Are these apartments next to AEK hospital? Using their car park? So, ideal for the 'walking dead' expats like myself maybe!? :-k
