Whats the advantage in having a inverter on the Air conditioner?

Is is cheaper to run?

yes it is an inverter system/type, don't understand it all personally but the guy in the shop did reiterate what Aardvark says above and to be honest it is very quiet running

I think...
If it`s called inverter, your unit can produce warm air as well as cold air. Have one of those myself and it`s called inverter, not air conditioner.

It still conditions the air -- whether it's heating it or chilling it.

A unit with inverter continuously adopts the rotation speed of the compressor to the actual need for cold air in the room.
this means it never uses more energy than necessary to cool a room, the temperature gets more even, and the compressor makes less starts and stops, compared with the on / off type.

Please disregard my previous post
