An obstinate father?

Thailand visa and Immigration forum

Re: Idiot Thai Fathers

I would like to comment on the title of this thread. First off I understand about poor fathers but I know they are not limited to Thailand. Also I can't help but wonder what a Thai man would think seeing this title ; Idiot Thai fathers; and how they would feel about some foreigners saying things like this in Their country. I am Canadian and if a group of people from another country living in my country said things like this about us I know I would not like it all. I think we need to remember we are guests here especially if we want to be accepted in any capacity and be able to enjoy our time in Thailand. Perhaps a title for this thread should have reflected the problem in your situation and not generically blaming Thai fathers. I am not trying to stir the pot here but I really think we have to consider how we present ourselves to the people of the country we are living in.

The OP is not saying all Thai fathers are idiots.
If you're a Thai father and you're not an idiot, it doesn't apply to you. The OP is addressing the problem of idiot Thai fathers (of which there are some)
It's like someone saying crap Korean TVs. It doesn't imply all Korean televisions are crap. But there certainly are some.

The title has been amended to better reflect the OP's question, and to ensure it isn't construed as being inflammatory, discriminatory or racial.

The topic has also been moved from "Forum Help & Support" to "Visa's and Migration to other countries forum".

If this was a UK application you must demonstrate that you have sole responsibility of the children.
