Living here 12 years and use to look forward to the fair each year. Each year it got bigger and each year more people attending. It's seems to have gotten too big for the park. The amount of people, number of stalls cramped together make it unjoyable IMO.

MS - you are about as positive about things in life as my car battery was when I left the lights on for a fortnight. The crowds, the huge amount of stalls and fun fair is what makes it so enjoyable. Good family fun. I can imagine some grumpy farts would find it too much.

Sitting alone in front of your PC all day moaning about everything is the most unjoyable.

No OT you are wrong. I enjoy a good day at the fair. but when the crowds are such that you can barely move from one spot to another. The fair has gotten so big and the park is not large enough to support it. unfortunately there is no other place to hold it. people are packed in like cattle waiting to be slaughtered.

Just my observation on the previous posts. If the place is packed they must be doing something right. I personally do not like crowds but there are plenty of times I can go and enjoy the fair without being shoulder to shoulder with others .Like today I was there at around 10am this morning, had a quite one hour massage , 100bht , then round the outside stalls, bought some plants, looked enviously at some of the beautiful wood furniture on display, had a bowl of noodles, then left just after mid day. No problems parking or walking around. Good service with some massive discounts for being the first customer of the day , watch them waving the money over the stock, its great .Time it to suit your needs .

This set was 90,000bht .

While I deplore the way it has become an obvious fair for selling some good things and also unadulterated rubbish, the organisers really need to get down to planning it a tad better, as the entire town almost grounds to halt when it is on. true it is crowd puller, but only a couple of weeks before they hada gardening fair as I call it and yet again the same people come back for more causing horrendous traffic problems around the outside and to top it all after the closing the Chinese Thais did their march back to the Temple, not a problem but the complete lack of traffic control and organisation by the |Thai Police , left me parked engine off, just outside Macdonalds trying to get home for at least 30-445 mins while groups of various Chinese lodges ambled along , when it was over it took yet anothger 30 mins to get moving, as again the Police did absolutely nothing to alleviate the stacked up traffic and Thais being Thais completly ignored the traffic lights, causing more mayhem.

But as this is Thailand it will take a death or two to even wake up the police to Police it properly, so maybe next year I will give it a miss and visit watering holes outside town when the fair is on.
just another thought my neighbour (Thai ) went there and ate some food, 50% of the Thai family (approx 5 people ) are ill with food poisoning , so another reason to give it a miss.
