Any Manchester United fans out there?

Postby BKKSTAN » April 18, 2007, 7:41 am

 As an American that has learned to really enjoy the game of ''football'',I have become a big fan of Man U.!I find myself getting ribbed about that by most of my friends as everyone else has different teams and they all hate Man U. and /or their manager!I really appreciate the extraordinary talents of Ronaldo, which usually brings on another chorus of slamming remarks

So I was wondering if I have any allies out there that do support Man U.

It ,also, would be interesting to hear, what is your favorite team and player?

Mine is the most successful English football team of all time: Liverpool. Hang in there Stan... A few More European cups and they might just emulate the real kings.

And as for my favourite player well Steven Gerrard is as good as they come.

I could never hate Man. U as they will always be pretenders to the crown.

Have been an ARSENAL supporter since before WWII. When their ground was used for a Anti-aircraft gun emplacement, I even went to watch them play at White Hart Lane Tottenhams ground during this time. After the war became a season ticket holder, went all round the country following them. In those days the team was selected from local talent, which side of the Thames you were born on, dictating what team you could play for.A foreign player was someone born in South London. Nowadays with so many real foreigners, the number depending on how big the chairmans purse, in the team, it has lost the local flavour. So whilst I still support them, it is without the fervour I once had.The same could be said about all Premier teams I.m afraid.
Thats progress?

Been a CHELSEA fan since 1964, when I saw my first ever 1st Div match at Highbury. Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-2 and have stuck with them ever since through thick and thin.
The two teams I dislike most are Man U and Liverpool. Sorry folks, that's the way it is, though I do support the English team in Europe, whoever they are.
Can't see Man U slipping up in the league this year, their run-in is alot easier than Chelsea's, but we'll win the Cups.
Will be justice knocking Liverpool out of the Champions League Cup this time after they were gifted "the goal that never was" two years ago. :D

I think it is fantastic,or as the Chelsea manager said ''like a dream'',that Chelsea and Man U. will be battling it out for the cups and the league. Both teams have several great players!

As a Fulham supporter and have been for many years Iam looking forward to Chelsea winning the cup as Fulham are unlikely to win anything untill they stop selling their top players, then maybe we may eventually win a little of the silver. Will it be in my lifetime...who knows.

I enjoyed Ipswich games when I lived there, but that was quite a while ago. I enjoy Manchester United, have a friend in the U.S. from Warrington who got me started watching.

This is understandable - Life is difficult in the shadow of greatness.

They would have only made a show of themselves against Milan anyway. Best to let the team with the pedigree take the stage.

I'm a Chelsea fan, used to stand in the Shed end with my cousins, and I have a soft spot for Fulham. My family come from Battersea and Fulham. Have faith Galee, it's great that the title will go to the wire.

Although a dyed-in-the-wool Liverpool supporter. My soft spot is now for Chelsea... Well to the end of May anyway. I haven't prayed so much as I have now that Utd will slip up. Liverpool will have to settle for the bronze medal again... Good result against the hammers... =D> I wonder if Mourinho will stay on... The press seem to have him out already and Guus Hiddink as his replacement.

Great thread Stan.

I have been a Manchester United supporter for over 30 years. Being from Manchester my family is split 50/50. Half my family supports Manchester City.

Needless to say who has had the most success.

Although it hasn't been all trophies and medals. I supported United throughout the 1980's when we won nothing, and Liverpool and Everton (yes Everton) won everything. Back then the 'big four' were Liverpool, ManU, Everton and Spurs. Chelsea and Arsenal have only really taken over in the last decade or so.

I have always enjoyed watching ManU play as they try to play attacking, exciting football.

Saturday will be a big game for us. Middlesborough will be out for revenge after knocking them out of the FA cup.

On Sunday I will be a Newcastle fan. way aye man.

Come on you reds!
