Any one knows when that OIshi next to Mc D will open?

Postby thalenoi » February 13, 2010, 8:23 am

We go shopping once a week into Udon and turning right into the road to the railway GF saw that Oishi place next to Mc **** and asked "can we have sashimi/sushi here today for lunch?

Looks to me the place is not open yet.
When and will they offer full a la carte menu, buffet or revolving buffet?
Any one knows???

I hear that cheap, processed Japanese food gives you pancreatic cancer.

Any truth to that rumor? :D

Ahhh clear evidence that the Japanese aren't eating the grubby, sh!te (just for you) fly-ridden slop the "restaurants" here are claiming as Japanese food.

Would you know the difference? Nah! didn't think so. Doesn't fit your model.

You claim that "processed Japanese food gives you pancreatic cancer" & yet as soon as that is challenged with a fact you cannot dispute you go for the personal insult.
From the majority of the posts you make Tex I am afraid that it is clearly you that has a closed mind & believes everything can be put into your pre-conceived ideas without a hint of facts to back it up.

Tried to get into Shabushi just before midday today, jammed packed and bloke on the door said a 2 hour wait  ,will try midweek. :(
Loads of farang celebrating Valentine's day in McDonalds next door

And judging by the work still to be done on Oishi, think maybe more than a couple of weeks to complete. 8)

2 hour wait with ticketing system when i tried to eat there 3 days ago. And the announcements concerning the next ticket number in Thai, the number display was not working.
Of course, Mcdonalds, it was !
Inside Shabushi, i noticed that there were no conveyor belt "trains" like in other ones in Chiang Mai that i have been to.
But as much Sushi, soup, top ingredients as you can eat, but there is a time limit

There are conveyor belts. Every seat and table has access to the conveyor belt system.

We went in at Shabushi by Oishi at 11.15, you have 1.15 (one hour and 15 minutes) to eat as much as you can handle, free non alcoholic drinks. There is a starters buffet also. Take whatever you fancy from the conveyor belt (vegs, shrimp, chicken, beef, fish, look chin, egg) drop into boiling water, eat within the minute, repeat process over and over again.
We gave up after 30 minutes, yep, that fast....and (I) paid 563THB for two.

We will be back, hopefully not this Friday (hit AEK afterwards, lost teeth filling, no dentists available, have appointment Friday morning, got one for GF also who refused to check teeth for the last 5 years, saw she begins top have black spots on 2 of them)

As is becoming increasingly common the price you pay is not what is advertised, it is " + + "

Service Charge and Tax are added to the advertised price plus, as said above, an overstay surcharge (maybe they have consultants from immigration working for them) if you stay longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes - I don't know if they also add a further service charge and tax on the overstay surcharge :-k

Clock watching does not exactly enhance the eating experience :(
