Anyone Using "First Money Transfer" From Australia

I am about to register with First Money Transfer.

Is anyone using them?

Will be sending funds to KTB in Udon.

Why not just use your bank, it's the safest way.
Especially if there is a stuff up, we have lost a couple of transfers due to the wrong account numbers being entered at either end, and no problems, we were able to get it sorted out which I don't think you would get with a transfer company.

I transfer money every month from my bank in Australia to my Thai bank for a 20 dollar fee regardless of amount. Never had a problem in 10 years. Seems alot safer than a transfer company. IMO.

Must admit my Commonwealth Bank Int transfer fee of $22 AUD is a safe way and has security to go with it.

Whats the fees for the FMT and do they convert before they send to Thailand, or does it go via US eg,

Beware of non institutional transfers, etc, Western Union exempted.

I have had a look at the Commonwealth Bank Web site I cannot find this Fee of $20 or $22.

There is a Fee of $28 plus other bank Fee for a Telegraphic Transfer.

I also looked at the rates they are more than half a Baht below First Money Transfer and more than 1 Baht less than the SCB Transfer for Notes.

Does the Commonwealth Bank neg Fees and Transfer Rates?

I currently only have accounts with BankWest their rates are O/A.

I spoke to a mate he said it can take up to a week for a Telegraphic Transfer to go through.

First Money Transfer say the money will be there on the same day.

Transferred money from CBA yesterday to my Thai account. The internet charge for this International transfer is $22 AUD.

The money arrived in my Thai bank account today.

yes the fee is $28 if you go into a branch, do it on line is cheaper, I have a Oz debit card that I used here able to with draw 20,000B at a time fee is $5 every with drawal, so depends how much a month you want to with draw, Swift wire transfer via bank or the inter net is best for large sums.

for small amounts monthly a debit card is the best, my GF uses my card here when I go back to OZ

Just an update. I have been using First Money Transfer with no problems money there on the same day.

You can now Transfer upto $5000 for a fee of $25 today rate is at 28.6.

As per my earlier post and other members recommendations, I think you are better off using your bank, if something goes wrong they will sort it out for you.
Also you are better to send AUD to Thailand and you'll get a lot better exchange rate, ie- First Monies rate right now is 28.40 and Kasikorn is 29.11, you have lost 3,550 THB (125 AUD) just in the transfer.

CBA if done before the cut off date of 1600 hrs , will normall hit my Udon account at 1600 local time.

$22 and yes the Aud to THB is the way to go.

I have only found one Credit Card in Oz which does not charge any fees when I use it in Thailand are there some others around?

I have NAB and ANZ accounts here and used to send via NAB from the bank, then found that ANZ will send using online banking (which NAB doesn't), so I just go online and do a transfer of AUD to family in Thailand to their Kasikorn bank account, $25.00 transfer fee and I get a good exchange rate in Thailand.
