Aspirin

Postby read » December 19, 2011, 4:15 pm

This is my first post - I'm new to the forum.
I have lived and worked in China since 2003 but felt a change of country/location/climate etc etc was necessary so I chose this area.
I've been in Thailand now for 2 months but here in Nong Han I am having some trouble locating a 'pharmacy' that can supply me with Aspirin!!!
I had no problem locating it in Bangkok but here I get a shake of the head!!
The aspirin is needed for a circulatory problem!
Any help locating an 'aspirin' outlet would be greatly appreciated.

It's also widely available in Udon city. Try Booths or Watson pharmacy in Charoensi Complex. Watson's used to be a little cheaper.

I think maybe you are looking for junior aspirin. The pharmacy at the top of the escalator in the new Big C has them in boxes of 50 for about 40bht .

The good folks at Britishdispensary provide 81mg tablets in packets of 10 or in bottles of 1000 (www.britishdispensary.com)
You might want to take a copy of the photo to show your pharmacy.

Any chance there's a bit of 203/208 linguist in your background?

There sure is, I took early retirement from the 'chalk face' in the UK in 2003 and decided to leave the country and ended up in the remote north western province of Xinjiang working for China Petroleum in their schools and training centres. Stayed there until August 2010 and relocated to Kunming - much milder climate than the extremes found in Xinjiang.
In October I became China'd out and simply got a flight from Kunming to Bkk. Found Udon purely by chance on a stop over on a visa run.
Consequently decided I liked the place - only been here for just over a week and am in Nong Han with a friend!
Don't know whether to return to teaching or just simply relax and enjoy Christmas while giving it some thought.
