B4 Visa

I've been told by a friend of mine that you need to return to your home country to get a Thai Business Visa (B4). Is this true?

A couple of people I know had to recently go back to the UK for a business visa ....they are quite easy to get with the correct letter from a Thai based company...

I have also heard a rumor (from a solicitor) that they are going to change the retirement visa rule and they will have another option of where you can get the retirement visa at the age of 45 but you have to deposit a larger sum of 1 million baht in the bank for a minimum of 3 months...
