Just to bump this up again. Please note along with July 7th (Asarnha bucha day) as listed above, Wednesday 8th July is a Buddhist lent day (Khao Pansa). The government has banned the sale of alcohol on these 2 days. So if you like a brew or a wee dram then stocking up over the weekend might be a plan. Luckily this does not affect me as being a devout Christian I abstain from alcohol.

And if you believe that I have a nice temple for sale on some prime real estate in Bangkok.

I'm giving it away Roy at a mere 1 million Baht. I have the title deeds created by my real estate agent on Khao San Road.

As for the 6th LA, my g/f says banks are open but at this time we are not sure about schools. The 7th and 8th loom large in my mind as this is an alcohol free time so I fear for those unlike me ( :^o :^o :^o ) that that like a drink of ankohon... :badteeth:

There was a flap in the news because Asarnha bucha and Khao pansa I guess are Buddhist
holidays and I think Abhisit the PM passed some legislation declaring them offical no alcohol
days (understandable that) and the tourist sector was wailing in was another nail in the coffin?
Personally I feel most foreigners can obstain for a day or two before pillaging the countryside.

Some of the locals have told me that the bank branches inside Big C are open whenever Big C is open. Does anyone know if this is the case?
