Battle of Britain Flight may go .

Postby trubrit » January 15, 2010, 10:13 am

One of the the planned defence cuts may be the abolishing of the Battle of Britain flight. The M.O.D. have stated they will not let it continue under private sponsorship. Also under review is the fate of the famous Red Arrows.

Yep, I know what you mean. That's why I left many moons ago to go work in Europe, then Australia. Parents get the International Express from the UK every week - it makes for deepressing reading!

Sadly not - died 27th. March 2000.

As the report says the huge majority of the expenditure goes on equipment/spares/repairs purchases. An area that would cause anyone that had ever done commercial purchasing to commit hari-kiri/seppuku if they got involved with it. The waste & inefficiency involved is horrific.
The stopping of these events is insignificant in relation to the money spent. It is probably an attempt by those in charge of the budget to protect it. :(

Unfortunately it would seem GB has not recovered from exporting their best and brightest to New Holland in the late 1700's. :D
