BCS American College Football Championship 2012

Postby danchatka » January 9, 2012, 7:04 pm

Hi,

Tomorrow morning (Tuesday, January 12th), the American College Football Championship game (BCS) will be played.

Does anyone know any Udon Thani sports bars that will be open then and have the game on TV?

Thanks,
Danny

'Bama should win the re-match but an L.S.U. victory would be okay too since I like both teams. Although the Bengal Tigers beat the Crimson Tide in the regular season game, 9-6, it must be remembered that Alabama missed 4 field goals.

L.S.U. was in a situation like this once before in the late '50s when they beat the Ole Miss Rebels 7-3 on a dramatic punt return for a touchdown by Billy Cannon. The Johnny Rebs won the re-match in the Sugar Bowl, 21-0.

I do not know where the game is showing in Udonthani, but I will be watching on TSN in Toronto, Canada!

Danny, tomorrow, Tuesday, is the 10th. January, Thursday will be the 12th.

I think if you can see would very much depend on the time the game was televised.
If it was morning, which I suspect, then I think you stand more chance of watching it in a hotel with cable (somewhere like Ruy Suk or Top Mansion) than in a Bar...

The game is tonight beginning at 8:30 p.m. Toronto time although there will be pre-game analysis and banter beginning at 6. So, that means the game begins at 8:30 a.m. Udonthani time, 10 January 2012.

Alabama and L.S.U. are very similar in style with great defences. The game itself should be a classic!

Thanks Laan Yaa Mo.
In that case I think it is unlikely that Danny will find a bar that will be showing it...
It would need to be somewhere that generally opened for breakfast, so that rather limits it.

For the L.S.U. Tigers, 'it was deja vu all over again'! - quote, Yogi Berra.

In 1959, the Tigers won the game of the century over the Ole Miss Rebels, 7-3, thanks to a memorable punt return for a touchdown by Billy Cannon. They played a re-match in the Sugar Bowl in which the Johnny Rebs thrashed L.S.U. 21-0.

In 2011, L.S.U. won the game of the new century over the Alabama Crimson Tide, 9-6. Last night, in the re-match for the national championship, 'Bama humbled L.S.U., in a great defensive effort, by the score of 21-0! Roll Tide!
