Be Careful Where You Use Internet!!!!!

Postby PopsIcafe » August 13, 2008, 5:12 pm

I as always scan any device that is going to be used on my computers. A younger girl came in to do school work today. I checked her USB thumb drive, I found a key logger on it. I'm not sure if she got it from the school's computers or from another Internet shop. So please be very careful out there.

To echo that I used to use an internet shop in Khon Kaen. I'd insert my USB thumb drive and do what I had to do. When I'd go home and use the USB in my notebook I'd get a virus warning. The pc's in the internet cafe were infected. I tried to tell the girl and she said ok. 2 more trips back, 2 more viruses... They never sorted it so had to change cafes.

I have found that, kids especially, don't care about the viruses, spyware, or key loggers on the computers. When I had the wife tell how the key logger works, she just laughed about. Wait till someone buys here messenger ID and password, then starts using it to email spam, or something illegal. Will she get a shock when and if the BIB's come to here house.

Most Internet shops don't use anything and don't really care. If something happens to the computer, they send it back for repair and spend 100 to 300 baht. I bet Cat Telecom, TT&T and TOT get a lot of calls about the net being slow. Cat Telecom checks and calls them back, tells them which computers are infected LOL.
