Beer Laws

Yeah, stock up and you can buy anytime they're open, it seems. Better than trying to beat the clock with smaller purchases of beer.

The reason I even brought up the subject was that a couple of weeks ago I was in Tesco's and in cashier's line with a full cart of groceries along with two six packs of Leo at about 1:45 pm. A new and slow cashier so by the time she was ringing up my purchases she came upon the beer and, without a word, stuck them under the counter. After I asked her gently wtf she showed the register slip that showed 2 minutes after 2 pm! Tried to reason with her and the head cashier about being in line for 15 minutes but they wouldn't budge and, technically, they were correct but soooo slow! They might have suggested that I buy another case/box of beer and it would be ok but didn't.

Ah, well. There's always the mom and pop shops who will sell you a beer anytime of the day or night.

Whatever happened to Tesco's promise (in many adverts from the company) that if there is a queue at the checkout, we will open more checkouts until the queue disappears

GF loves that name and they do serve a gr8 value and save heaps in fuel, just to get some cold cans and coke and ice for the GF. Its a 2 min walk.
