Best Bar in Nong Khai

What are the best bars in Nong Khai these days, both for eye candy and for having a quite beer? Where are they located?

Rufus, you would be struggling on all counts these days. The most popular bars tend to be along the strip which includes Nong's, Swedis(h) bar & Brendan & Noi's. If you want to eat Brendan's or Apples.. A quiet drink Apple's.

NK is very quiet and I've yet to see any girls which could be construed as eye candy. You'd probably see more eye candy if you went for a drink of coffee in the Tesco complex.

Banana is fine if you can communicate telepathically. Though doesn't have customers until after midnight.

Banana is a disco (very loud music and more suited to young people) at the Thai Laos Hotel, as is Riverside which is live country music pub and more suited to those over 28. Though Rufus did ask about bars and where to get a quiet beer.

Although there are several bars with P4P gals,I certainly agree with Arjay,no eye candy for hire.As a matter of fact,IMO,the majority are over the hill or not very shapely!

Falang food with a quiet or chatting with other falangs venues are definitely Brendons ,Apples,Beer Belly Billys and The NY Bistro!

On the odd occasion that I sally forth to NK, I generally find myself parking outside the Wat which is located over the road from the main jetty used for transporting goods over the river to Laos.

There is a bar in the street which is generally occupied by numerous young(ish) ladies of various grades of beauty, but all sharing a "come hither" look. And they certainly serve cold beverages at the bar.

Perhaps RJ or Stan (or another NK local) could identify and name the bar, and assist the OP in his search for.......... whatever?

The bar Jack is describing, opposite the Wat car and bus park, is the Pek bar. Yes it has some females, though I wouldn't describe them as eye candy.

Apples would be best for quietness. Or a couple of other thoughts, Carsten's place facing the river in the day time. Or, from mid evening on, next to Apple's is "Warm Up" a predominantly Thai bar with (concrete) garden area facing the river. That should be quite good for eye candy, and has a reasonably laid back atmosphere.

I remember about 12 months ago I went to Nong Khai from Udon and was sat outside Beer Belly Billys with the local legend 747man !
A very attractive young lady from one of the nearby bars walked past smiling and back again still smiling.Obviously she would be weighing me up and not 747man !
Unfortunately my wife and her friend were at the white wat just up the road so a pleasant smile in return was all I could manage !
But the area around Beer Belly Billys looked quite good with a few bars located on either side overlooking the Mekhong.
Dont know if its changed in the last 12 months though.......located on the Rimkhong road,past the Indo China market and about 300 metres from the white wat.
I'll be in Nong Khai sometime before Xmas,Alan,so I'll let you know.....

Andy, So I'm a LEG-END Hey ??? I Very really go to BBB's now as you know I dont drink Alcohol and each time I pass his place seems to be quite busy,but I think he is catering to The " Pisshead " fraternity,& The restaurant part has been reduced inside to accomdate another bar area,Oh ! Well life goes on, But I'm sure that attractive Lady is still on the prowl looking for you or another very RICH man........

Zidane, that end of town has become a lot quieter these days, with a couple of the bars there having closed. (Funky Monkey moved into town), and The Jungle bar from where the girls who walked past (when you were there) probably came from, has been closed for a few weeks now. Beer Belly Billy's continues to do well, though as it's down the far end of the river road and has no eye candy, and is not always quiet, I had excluded it from my response/suggestions to the OP's questions.

I also want to know this one because I haven't got to Nong Khai as well as in Thailand. And I am planning to visit there on vacation with my family if i have enough money. I haven't tried the Thai food and i like to taste it because my friends told me it is tasty especially those on the streets.
