Where is the best golf course in Udon Thani?

To stattointhailand and wiking thanks for your advice. I palyed Nong Samrong today and got a Caddy called Lung or Long (that's what it sounded like) He was a young guy and a good Caddy. I asked him what he wanted at the end of 18 holes to which he replied 200 Baht. Which based on your replies seems fair. I was misguided on some information I obtained via the Internet. It said the Caddy fee at Nong Samrong was 60 Baht (I assumed for 9 holes) I questoned the fee with other Caddies and some guys from the club when Lung had gone. They all said 100 Baht for 9 holes. I wish I hadn't brought up the matter now after seeing your replies. Especially, after yesterday (my first outing on the course) I hooked my drive from the first tee which bounced down the concrete road, nearly hit an Army Officer and duly knocked the head of a ceramic chicken adorning a memorial to a former King of Thailand  I will have to apologise next time I go and one lucky caddy will get an extra tip! It might be Lut wiking's son!

the caddy fee in nong samroon is 70 baht for 9 hole and the caddy get the 60 baht -
the caddy has to go every morning to clean up and restore

Lut is a nice young man, I hope you will be happy with him, many tell me, he is a very good caddy -

Where is the best golf course in Udon Thani?

Postby bamakmak » August 14, 2011, 10:35 am

I have a pricing question about buying used golf clubs in Udon. My neighbor (a farang) unfortunately died about 18 months ago and his wife is interested in selling his golf clubs to me. Neither of us have any idea what a fair price would be. It is a Callaway golf set consisting of 3 woods, 8 irons, a putter and the bag. All are in very good condition.

Anyone have an idea of what a fair offer would be?

Any help is appreciated!

I would think to buy a full set of new original, (not copies) Callaways would set you back about 40K baht. If they are copies from China a lot less. Therefore I'd be reluctant to suggest a figure not knowing what the purchase price was.

This website http://www.golfbidder.co.uk/golf-advice ... clubs.html might help in identifying if you have copies or not, but it's not easy if you don't have an original club to compare them with.

I bought a whole set with driver, irons, putter and bag of Callaway for 8,000 baht from friend that just visited China. They work fine but he says durability (assuming if you play 2-3 times a week) only last couple years compared to 10-15 years if you bought the original.
