Blurred text in Firefox

Postby lee » September 5, 2011, 11:04 am

I thought eyesight was going when I looked at the computer screen today. For some bizarre reason the text in FF looks blurry and hard to read. I confirmed it wasn't my eyesight when I checked the page against Google Chrome, GC displays how it used to look in FF.

I ran a windows update this morning which included an update for NVIDA graphics card, maybe this has caused the problems. Although I don't see why it would effect only firefox and not Chrome.

The only fix I can find via a Google search is to install a anti-aliasing add-on. This fixes it slightly but messes up the text alignment. I don't really like add-ons to fix problems like this so in the mean time I will have to swap over to Chrome until I can find a fix for FF. Seems to me a lot of problems with FF these days.

BTW this is how the text compares:

Blurred text in Firefox

Roll back to the previous graphics driver, and see if the problem is still there - that way you can eliminate one possible issue.

ps I can't see any difference between the text in your attachment - not sure if that means I need (new) glasses, or you do. :D
