Broken hearted Jock found living in a car

Postby izzix » May 30, 2009, 12:32 am

Friday 29th May 2009
Scottish Man lives in his car for 4 days following break-up with his Wife.

On Friday Afternoon, Police and rescue workers were called to the front of the Poipet Market located in Soi Neun Plub Wan following reports of a foreign man who had been living inside his car at the location for 4 days. Local residents were concerned about his welfare and decided that Police and medical intervention was required. Rescue workers approached Mr. Joe White aged 55 from Scotland who initially refused to come out from his car. Foul odors emanating from the car suggested that he had used the Nissan NV car as a toilet during his 4 day stay at the location. Eventually he was dragged from the car and taken to Hospital. Local’s informed us that he had gone to the Chester’s Bar which is close to the Market where he asked staff members to assist him in locating his Wife who had apparently run off with their daughter to Loei Province in the North-East of Thailand. Contact was made with Mr. White’s wife, Khun Juraipon aged 35 who stated that the pair had agreed to sell their house and move to Loei Province. However Khun Juraipon and the child went first without Mr. White. On the phone she claimed that she had no intention of taking her Husband with them and wanted to end their relationship. Mr. White is now under observation in Hospital and receiving assistance from local British Embassy officials.

Clearly a mental case. Maybe his wife drove him to it. No lady, no cry.

Poor Geezer, must be devastating to learn your wife has gone off with your child...i would get over losing the wife but loosing your child is a differant matter...its hard to imagine how you would cope or what you would do in a situation like that more so in a foreign land, who could you turn to, what could you do about the whole thing.
Hope he gets back on track soon.

I am happy to read his embassy is helping him / it easy to get caught up with problems here especially
if you come here with out a pension because your savings can dry up fairly quick here with the help of some real pretty ladies or LB if that is your preference

Westerby, why is it you have to TRY to make a joke of everything no matter how serious or sad the subject may be?

Slightly off Topic, But still related.
Before I came to stay Thailand,I had the impression all Thai people were gentile, submissive, kind, loyal
caring people.
Yes! This is the place for me I thought.I had been to Thailand several times before.Always met kind nice
people.BUT, then I had a fat wallet.
I had a few relationships, ended abruptly when I refused pay extra money I could not afford.
I soon found out,I had the wrong impression of this race.
Love and care exists in Thailand. But The way of thinking is in a different perspective than farang "culture".
Love in Thailand is "To take care partner" That means, if you pay all the bills, take care the family, buy gold, and give a good style of living,They will love you for that reason..I know or sure,If I was destitute, and down on my luck,Like this poor feller, I would be in a similar situation.
But through experience,I have conditioned myself to expect the worst.I would never allow myself to be in that position.I did once, although devastated,I decided never trust again....no matter how long you live with them.
My ex farang wife sussed out these kind of people within two days of our holiday here.
"Hard as nails" was her expression.
So keep away from balcony's....There not worth it!
Saying goes....Kindness, doesnt pay with kindness.

Surely is a sad situation, but none of us know the situation at home prior to this event!

Although, there are many situations where the falang get ripped off, there are many abusive or poor falang ''partners''!

Although,he might be in the throws of depression, his actions here don't show well for his case either.

Tough one!Sad to hear about, for sure!

Just coincidence, but I have only met a few Scots in Thailand and all of them were down and out alcoholics with some bizaare behaviors exhibited while enebriated!

I don't want to infer that all Scots are this way, just my limited exposure!I have heard about another that lives in NK that is one of the nicest guys around, but I have never met him personally.

And i love Man Utd.'s Fergie,although I can't understand him

Yes it's possible to believe that if any one can defecate in their own car, then its not a far stretch to imagine them doing it in the home. In which case it should be the woman and child that gets our sympathy.Just a thought.

Well, he could have logged in on UdonMap or TV and spilled his guts about his problems and received some "helpful" advice. Or been called a troll. Wait a minute....he DID spill his guts in the car, didn't he? :-s

Anyway, hope he gets the mental treatment needed for his abnormal behaviour.

So if the poor guy has sold his house where does he go when he comes out of hospital looking at him id say he is broke as well and probably unemployable. Not much going for this poor lad is there. Ive got a few suggestions to help him out. He can sell his moter at a knock down price might although it might need a good valeting, or some of you guys can have a benefit night for him at the night market and give him a wedge to get a flight home as his life looks to have gone tits up over there. I can understand why his missus has done one wouldn't mind having a smell test on his old house.

I`m Scottish and we tend to turn, very easily to drink, in this type of situation or similar(deaths, hearing of serious illness, family probems etc etc,).Don`t ask me why,but it happens.Myself, erm . . . no.Maybe in my 20`s.I like a social drink but I would`nt get inebriated if its time to have a clear head and work things out.
I would love to defend my fellow unknown countrymen re BKKSTANS comments(no offence taken Stan), but I cant, then again, what nationality could if the same was said about their Nation`s men ? Not many I think.
I met a Farang one night this week who took time to explain to me about his problems,money,love-life,house back home gone down the Swanny and more.He had his daily(his words)bottle of Thailands best Rum in front of him, nearly finished.Do you know what I thought,he`s acting just like a Scotsman.Would other nationalities think the same ?? Who knows.
Cheers for now
