Buying a business in Nong Khai

sounds like Meeting Place is going to be reborn. good choice, as known in LP, and cheap investment. don't know about the peticulars, licenses and stuff. and yes i'm speculating, but let the rumors begin. at 6000 baht a month rental, last advert i saw. not too much of a leap. besides, just some work and food to start it up, what you don't sell, you eat.

good luck if that is your venture. also good luck with staffing, as one of previous owner main complaint was staffing. they couldn't seem to keep food supplied for daily specials, known in advance. staffing is one of the major complaints of all service business owners.

good luck.

Meeting Place is well past its prime and effective use which was where the Friendship bridge construction crews from Australia hungout and lived 12 years ago.Since then many very motivated people have piled money and time into making the place go without success. It has been a ''moneytrap'' and IMO will continue to be.Its location combined with many new accomodation spots, leaves it in the ''dream''category as far as a business propositin is concerned!

Has anyone one stayed at the Mut Mee recently? If so, how was it? I'm thinking about taking the family there for a night soon.

I have never stayed there, but I spend alot of time down on the waterfront and have met many tourist/travelers that stay there.Mostly backpacker/holistic interest persons.Met a fellow American last week that was staying there, not of the BP/holistic type,he was satisfied ,but was going to upgrade from his 300 baht room.He likes the setting and the staff!
Hope this info helps.
