Can I get a credit card here

Postby richard-px1 » February 8, 2011, 5:04 pm

Hi everyone, vie now been here for just over 2years,and still enjoying it.Had a house built, brought a pickup, and got some land for my young lady,to keep her and family busy.So everything ok.I live on my small UK pension, and have paid cash for everything. But now I find that so many things, such as signing up for APPS on my I/pad,or buying from the internet,I need a credit card.
Have tried to get a Amex card, but here in Thai they just don't reply,I suppose the can't understand English.
So any ideas, can Brits get a credit card here,if so which.Thank you :?

Hello. Of caurse you can get a creditcard in Thailand, i have two and i am a customer in the Yellow bank.....Krungse. My credticards is a VISA and i also have a debitcard VISA and this one is connected too one of my accounts in the bank. I recommend the small office inside Homepro as they have very god service at that small office. I been a customer there for five years and i am very happy whit there service. Too have as kreditcard you must be a customer in tghe bank and have a solid economi and .....yea...you know what needs, its the same in every bankoffice in the world i suppose!

God luck!

When I opened a bank account, guess about 6 years ago, they wanted to give me one, but had too many already and didn't need anymore. Not sure if it was a credit card or debit card though, (language), but it had a charge of something like 350 baht. I just wanted a ATM card which also costs around 350 baht a year.

When I told my wife to ask for one, the answer was No. No Job, No credit card. Just as well, I guess, for I could always get her one from one of my american banks, just by asking.
