Can't believe this......shocking

Postby LoveDaBlues » July 3, 2008, 3:19 pm

Well......in the last 2-3 years I've watched maybe 2 hours total of Fox news. I just came upon this link in another thread and still have a hard time believing what a so-called 'professional' news organization has done.
I can't believe they would stoop this low. The scary part is many, many Americans get their 'news' from this station.

When I saw this the first thing I thought of was a frat-boy stunt straight out of 'Animal House'.

The altered photos are down on the left side of the page or click the video on the right.

What were they thinking? #-o

Is the fact that Fox news has decent ratings an indication of the 'dumbing down' of America? After seeing this it wouldn't surprise me to see Johnny Knoxville get a regular segment slot on Fox.

That's the whole point!! To look ridiculous. I actually saw this bit when it was aired and unless you didn't (which I assume is true) then you are reading the post by Media Matters as if it were a 'News' piece. It was NOT. The whole thing was done as a joke to show the childish behavior of both Reddicliffe and Steinberg. This was NOT reported as NEWS, only as a joke to be laughed at.

As for LoveDaBlues, getting your 'fix' from Media Matters and then reporting it as if it were 'fact' only shows your extreme left-wing bias. Media Matters is just one of George Sorros' many ways to try to 'alter' the news. Believe at your own risk!

Having just watched the video of this Fox report, I am struggling to see the "joke" part.

As you watched the whole thing Paka, can you enlighten me with what preceded the piece by Doocy and Kilmeade, and what followed. Is Fox and Friends presented as satire, or is it meant to be serious commentary?

On the face of it, the piece is a nasty bit of work - from whichever side of the political spectrum you reside. I mean - altering photos is the sort of thing which one of our resident (and soon to be departed) conservatives has slated as the lowest form of behaviour

Very little shown on Faux could be considered news.
