Can't send a reply to a massage

I have been trying to reply to an 8-month old message without success.

I click on "Repy," type a message and hit submit. When I check in the "Sent" file the message is not there. It was not sent. The message is now found in the outbox. There appears no way to forward a message in the Outbox file.

Since there is a Sent file, I do not see any purpose for the Outbox file. Maybe it functions as a draft file.

I just started using a new computer and there is a possibility that I must tweak my service provider defaults. But as I am able to submit threads to the forum, it doesn't seem likely that I cannot reply to messages.

Another possibility is that the individual no longer has the address used when sending his message.

Any thoughts?

Since it's been 8 months, I feel your last comment may be pertinent but, just in case, why not PM either Lee or one of the Mods to see if this person is still on file/line?

TJ the system is working correctly.
When you reply the message will appear in your Outbox. Once the recipient has actually read your reply it will disappear from the Outbox and appear in your Sentbox.

Have you tried 'earthing' the pm box..?

What "massage" joint are you trying to reply to? (See thread heading)

So, if I decide I don't want to send the message, after I have already hit submit, and it is sitting in my outbox.
If I delete the message in my outbox, will the recipient not receive it?
Or is it like e-mail, once I hit send, it's sent?

Unless you want to send me a PM & I will promise not to try & open until tomorrow & you can delete & I will tell you if I do recieve it....

Sent you a test PM Bob. Then went to my outbox and deleted it. It doesn't appear in my outbox anymore.

it seems if you send a massage and the person you sent to don't open it you can edit it or just delete it,(if you change your mind or something) but i am sure the person receiving will still get a 'you have 1 new message' alert but won't get the message because you had a change of heart and decided to delete 'said' message thus creating some confusion and possibly generate some thought provoking thought as to why did i get a message that wasn't there, and what was that message that got deleted about....Mmmm.

I received the 'you have 1 new message' alert, but when I logged onto Udonmap this morning there was nothing there...

The pm system is working fine as far as I can see.
