The crime(s) were committed in Thailand, by a Canadian who (from reading the indictment) communicated with an American by computer.

I have no doubt that the indictment, issued in New Jersey, was valid under US law. My beef is the fact that the US has taken it upon itself to have such laws - I am not just talking about sex tourism, child pornography etc.
