Sometimes I drive down and sometimes I take the overnight train(my preference)taking my vehicle papers with me!Lasy year I drove and I was lucky that I did because they wouldn't register it without an inspection from an ''official''car check facility(Yellow building
I was wondering about if it was possible to get a ''car safety check''(mandatory if the car is 7 years old) in Nong Khai and if I could actually register it here with the Bangkok address?
When I bought the car,3 months old,I was told that I had to register it in the assigned office closest to my address on the registration.Consequently,I have gone to the same place evey year!
I took my car in for a tire & brake check and an oil change yesterday to the Cockpit(great ownership and management for customer service)!I asked the owner about ''car safety check'' and my registration questions. He said he wasn't sure ,but would make a call to ''a friend'' at the Land Transport office.
Later,''Yes can do,take your car to the lady at PP's,yellow bldg. across from land transport office ,she will take care of everything!''
One hour later, everything was done.I never set foot in the LT office! No extra charges, just the normal 750 baht inspection fee and 40 baht(car from Bangkok)fee.
