Cash Transfer ex Oz

Postby jackspratt » February 28, 2011, 7:16 pm

Given the continuing strength of the A$, I decided to transfer some more money today, via online banking (ex Westpac, Oz).

The transfer was done at about 8.00am Thai time - when I checked my Kasikorn (Ban Dung) account at about 2.00pm, the money was already showing. After fees both ends, the TT rate was approx 30.5. :D

There has been a huge improvement since I came here to live 4 years ago - then it would typically take 2 days for a transfer to be completed. I am not sure where the efficiency has arisen, but I suspect it is at the receiver's end, rather than sender's. :D

Same with online transfers with CBA

online transfer done @ 0700 Udon time, and sms from my bank at approx 1600 hrs same day, safely there and the rate is good.

Just remember to transfer it as AUD not get the Aussie Banks to convert it for you, as u loose approx 7%

Transfered ANZ to Krungthai and was hit a charge at both ends. In at Klasikorn Chum Phae the other day and staff there assured me that they do not charge for deposit from transfer.
