There is a problem because we're running on two systems here, phpbb and a management content system. The latter integrates with phpbb, however this was installed a year or so after the forum, so the old time users will be unable to use some functions of the content system unless they re-register on the new system. Users that registered within the past couple of years will be able to use all functions

A quick fix would be to set permissions for anyone to post on the box; however we'd probably end up with pages of spam. Or I can manually go through all the members and create a new user group which is very time consuming.

I will continue looking for a quick fix to this problem.
