This looks really nice and I'd love to take the family for dinner... BUT, what ever happened to the old adage - "when opening a new business the 3 most important things to remember is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.!" It looks to me as if the Chuan Neung Restaurant is destined for failure with its current location, well off the 'beaten path' I'm afraid. I wish them good luck and will try to support them... if I can find the place.

This restaurant was packed with well-to-do Sino-Thais at lunch time when I was there in September.

It seems Chaun Neung is a very popular place to eat already.

My only complaint was that they forgot my order, which was a source of laughter for my very good friend, her nephew and me.

Two of the customers knew the nephew as they were former teachers of his.

Not really an issue for locals that know locals! If they were catering to tourists or falangs ,that would be different.I think the locals like being off the beaten track!

Not really Stan... as attested to by the numerous 'eateries' set up on the various sidewalks all over town every evening. If anything, they WANT to be on the beaten track - literally. \:D/

Stopped by this restaurant last night with the TW and her 26 year old niece.

Pleasing atmosphere with water fountains and fast service.

Had tom yum pla, pad pak, cashew chicken, steamed rice, water, and I had a hot coffee. All were pleasingly presented.

The tom yum was sour and left largely uneaten. Both the pad pak and cashew chicken were sweet; the chicken markedly so. The flavors of all the dishes were not interesting. They reminded me of Thai food in America. The rice and water were OK. The cup of coffee (a true cup) was less the 1/2 full, although the flavor was good.

The TW passed our critique on to the pleasant waitress.

We will not stop by again.
