Cheese on Toast. How much?

Discussions on local & International restaurants and food suppliers.

yes, that's my point, 250 baht/dollars/pounds for a meal, that feeds one. a good days pay or 2 sad days pay, and only one meal for one person.

simply replace dollars for bahts, and you see thailand is a very expensive place to live. we just happen to be a little better off and can afford the outrageous prices.

it's ok to pay, if that's what you really want and can afford, but for most thais, it's a dream/nightmare. a recent example of you sampling cheese cake at good everything, sure only 90 baht or so, don't know what they charge, in exchange dollars, 3-4 bucks, same as states, but in reality baht, half a days pay. ouch.

and yes, 140 for a damn cheese sandwich, is too much anywhere. now 140 for a plate of excellent cheese and cold cuts with some nice bread, well, that's nice, if you can afford a days wage for it, or few bucks for us yankers.

Might depend on quantity go get on your plate?

I was at Italian Two Hearts a few days ago and ordered brushetta with cheese, I think was 78 baht for one portion, came with 8 toasts. Although he increased the prices on his menu (pasta more expensive) still the best deal on Italian food in town: 80 to 100B a platter of spaghetti, macaroni or penne.
