Things are not as glum as all that in old blighty (i hope). Dont want folks to start celibrating my leaving too soon in fact i will be splitting my time between the UK and Udonthani so not quite got rid of me totally.
I really hope the new owner keeps everything the same and i certainly will offer my services to him/her in a consultancy role to deal with ordering etc to make it a smooth transition.

Hi everybody

We have, at FBI, had a lot of telephone calls the last few days from people asking whether the Chern Chim Quality Food is for sale or not.

I do therefore want to confirm that the Chern Chim Quality Food is listed for sale with FBI http://www.udonrealestate.com/30080.asp

The sale do not only include the shop, but also the outlet at the airport, all the contracts to agents, restaurants and supermarkets where "Chern Chim's" western meat and deli products also are being sold.

"Chern Chim" is the sole distributor for a number of imported brand name products and is currently working on setting up a catering division etc.

Jon will of course introduce the buyer to all the suppliers and main costumers and do anything else to help the buyer get started.

The building is rented at 16,000 THB per month, on a long lease .

The building contains beside of the shop, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a huge penthouse apartment with 2 bedrooms.

Just a quick post to update something new in the shop. Today we have taken delivery of the first in several new food ranges being produced in partnership with a new catering company and solely for sale at Chern Chim and Tang Ngnee Soon supermarket .(hopefully in time the products will be sold throughout Thailand)
The first product is a spicy chili chutney made with top quality imported produce inc dates , gherkins , marrow and courgettes . If you like spicy then this is for you not for the faint hearted and great value at 85 bt per jar.

Hello all.
An update on some new stock lines just in the shop.

Ive been asked so many times for genuine ATORA suet pleased to say now in , also we now have jalapeno sauce and a spicy bbq sauce Flaming Tiger made with whiskey.

On the booze side new is a Marstons pedigree English pale ale too go with its dark real ale brother already in , also restocked the very popular Herefordshire farmhouse and Magners ciders.

For all who have called or emailed the best selling item in the shop - BASSETS LIQOURICE ALLSORTS IN AGAIN BUT BE QUICK. !!

Just a quick mail to inform that Chern Chim now has a sub branch / agent in Ban Dung the location is the JINDA SUPERMARKET ON SAWANG MUANG RD in the town center. The stock includes approx 20-25 best selling lines with a good mix of imported products as well as sausage , bacon pies etc also sliced cooked meats and some imported cider/beers.

I am currently looking to set up sub branches /agents in Nong Bua Lamphu and Khon Kaen if any one interested please contact me.

KK would be a huge success, based on my observations , having lived there also.

location location, near that Pullman block,

KK has the expats, but sadly lacks the expat facilities that Udon has, such as bars/ restaurents catering to the expats etc...

What about us up here Nongkhers? Surely a small ChooChoo would do OK, wuntit?

Wazza - I too think a CC in KK would do very well and maybe in Nong Khai but already have NK Direct near the bridge . Like in Ban Dung i would prefer if CC products went in an established supermarket making a " foreign food " corner/section.

Things seem to be going well in B.Dung and as more people find out about it should do well.

ok, need help, was looking for cherm chim information, one page said i had to sign in to see, so did that, then the next time i tried, said unauthorized to read. what's the deal, since other pages open not about CC, i also notice on home page, still listed as a sponsor.........................BUT...........................any help/reason appreciated.

was it sold, has advertising expired at end of month, and / or have post related to cherm chim been blocked ?????

I got the same result as LA, need to be signed in so I signed in, then got "you are not authorized to read this forum". But can read the other shopping threads. My guess is that they dropped their advertising contract, since they appear to be going under, or at least up for sale, so cut the losses. Or else a technical glitch, the internet has been acting strange today. No big deal as I don't shop there, just idle curiosity
