ClimateGate Thread [OPINION POLL]

Seems like the ClimateGate thread is just a troll thread going on years... (my opinion)

I just ask as an idea, not like it could actually happen, but just curious enough to create an OPINION POLL, asking the above "Lock the ClimateGate thread?"

My vote gave you another 4% papafarang. We'd be on the same hymn sheet as ronan on this one. I'd miss Rick's posts if it gets locked. Locking it would be a big call in an El Nino year and would raise questions about what to do with new threads addressing the climate change issue.

perhaps the climate issue is not an issue in itself, if the boat is sinking don't blame the boat, blame the guy who is busy making holes in it, as for free speech , should it be allowed to deride people ? seems one person wants to ruin it for all, debate only works with the open minded, a debate between Aryan nation and the black panthers would be pointless, as is the climategate thread

Actually, I think there is an element of justification in all 6 options - but i think climategate is dead and buried. I would just rename it the 'Global warming denial thread'.

It's been so warm where I am Noosard that I'll remember it as an El Nino year. Point taken.

I'm with a name change. "Global Warming Denial" seems spot on. My second choice for the name would be "Supporting Fossil Fuels".

votes are in , not that it was expected to go any other way but anti" trolling" . but a couple of protest votes, a strange
"it's informative." and a large group "Free Speech" fanatics

funny enough I decided not to be partisan about it and went for it's all been covered. . analyzing the results, taking out protesters ,freedom fighters and fringe voting were left with 1 interested party, and 8 FFS stop it party

so now all we need is roland to use his broken 9 digit calculator to manipulate the numbers to show that the 8 are in fact a bunch loony left wing greenies that work for kim jong il and its all a conspiracy against Donald trump

exactly, some will agree , some will disagree, and some will be offended. but the point is it can be seen to be deliberately offensive, which although not against the rules , is not in the spirit of an open forum . being a smartass with your words does not make it any less offensive to the bed wetters of perth.

yes I understand LS, self moderation is a much better way. mods having to come in is a sign that things are getting out of hand. as for the climitgate thread, it has been shown it never even existed . scientists, judges, peers, independent reviews found absolutely nothing of substance except tabloid headlines to sell papers and untruths. it is in fact completely misleading and if anybody had the will or the patience it could be broken down into 20 subjects from solar panels to does elvis live in pataya. perhaps rather than locking it a far more simple answer would be to rename the thread to "climitgate was a tabloid hoax" that way people that still want to debate it can carry on, there everybody happy and a more truthful title .
