Cowboy Rides Away

Postby banpaeng » July 17, 2006, 7:43 pm

I have done something tonight that I said I would not do and that is get into a bickering with forum members. I have been quite sad lately on how the forum is going with some of the nutcake posters and pompus asses.

With that I ask Lee to remove mod and actually remove me from the forum. I just do not fit any more.

My last post.

Goodbye to the nice guys and ladies.

OK Cowboy see you at the next forum meeting, I thought for a christmass present I could invite all who have posted here to try some Aussie Rum, Famous Bundaburg Rum, at the December meeting

Well I thing the older long term residents of Udon farang community makes the forum possible, with well and good advise, Us younger wipper snappers are learning the finer points of Thailand and Udon,

With over a thousand posts Cowboy I will loose a out on your experience of Udon, I am just an Apprentice when it comes to Udon life, I need more training, come back soon your imput is worth it.

never meet you yet so wait till I meet you then go.

Another great Tradesman wanting to leave

Hitch up that pony and set a spell longer, cowboy. Your input and sage advice is much too valuable to lose in here, Brian. Think of this forum as a cattle drive. Now, would you let a few strays lead the whole herd astray? Nope. A real cowboy would use a cattle prod or a mod button to keep the strays on the correct path when needed. Please reconsider and stay.

Besides, who else could I get to ride out to the village with me in the back of a bouncing pickup in the middle of the night to watch little kids in Muay Thai matches? :D

Polehawk I totally agree it would be a shame to lose one of the more respected members like Brian, especially as it was only over a misinterpretation of mine and Beer Monkies posting. Don't worry about the pompous ass title, I take it as rather humourous and up there a close second to being called "The Queen of Udon" by Paul.
Don't know about being prodded by a cattle stick though :o Ouch :!:

I'll have to learn to express my self better with the little yellow smilies, not making any serious post about our beloved Lee, some of my post go down the wrong way, and the elders of the forum tell me so, if it affends them.

Still I try a little harder, and Cowboys long experience here in Udon , and other long term posters makes this forum the best I read on any Thailand forum community.

Its the know how, have been there done that experience from the long term members that make it a good place to live and visit.

I'd be lost with out their imput, even if I get my butt chewed out sometimes, Old mate Valentine by his post of some of my remarks lets me know what I'v done wrong, he won't even have a drink with me. But I reserve my judment of any one till I know them better, or meet them at least.

So Cowboy Mate, the last round up is here, take others comments, with a thick skin approach till you can see their expression on ther face and tone of voice approach..

The rum offer is still waiting

OK for those of you have not met Brian he is a great guy and Southern Gentlemen. I'm happy to call his wife and he a friend, that not a title I give to many, it has to be earned and he has certainly done that and more in my case.

But I'm really missing something here I don't see anywhere that he was bickering with anybody. I saw one thread where it is indicated that the thread was not Thailand related. But I didn't see any bickering on his part just a statement of his opinnion.

Is that what we are talking about?

There's more to it than meets the eye Ray, but I'd best leave that for BP to fill you in on.

I do not know of the discussion that prompted his decision but I think I know how he feels. I also have been away for quite some time although I have been lurking in the shaddows. I said before that I was not gong to let the past comments by my buddy Mr. Xxxxxx get to me but it did. I really did not enjoy participating in a forum that everytime I posted something that I did for my wife or her family I was told that I was "buying" my way into my wife's life. I enjoy doing things for my family. I was just brought up this way.

Although I stopped my active participation here, as I stated above, I have been lurking about. I just did not feel the urge to post anything after that.

Thanks Lee,

I missed you guys and the good (if not ocassionally difficult to decypher drunken) converaations. Currently I am away from home working a big job in California on an American aircraft carrier and working some very long hours. Earning some good $ at the moment which is a good thing as the wife is talking about me building that wall around our farm again. At least I have her talked into building it only around where we are going to build the house instead of the whole farm. This takes it down from 18 rai to about the size of a football field.

I return to Udon on Sept 8th until October 2nd and again from December 20th until January 14th. I know that it's a little early to talk about it but I'll try to get into town for the January meeting.

I'll try to participate more now but my work hours are long trying to get a newly installed tactical computer system up and running for the first time.
