Curtain Rail with Rollers

Postby jackspratt » July 3, 2010, 8:40 pm

Is anyone aware of the availability of roller style curtain rails in Udon?

This is the sort of thing I have in mind, though it doesn't have to be exactly the same:

The closest I have seen so far (without looking too widely) is in Home Pro.

I am not really interested in rails (or rods) with loops, rings or drawstrings.

Thanks

There's a small aluminum shop on Prajak Rd....as you're heading from the clock circle (Bangkok Bank) toward Tungsrimuang, it's on the same side as the bank, and just before you cross the small bridge near the tax office. I don't think he had the double roller like in the photo, but he'll have the single roller where you can add hooks. He also has the aluminum in various lengths. I'm sure there are many other stores in town that have the same thing.
Another option: take you photo to some of the many curtain stores around town. They may have what you're looking for.

Jack,

Try Bo-Bay there are quite a few bespoke curtain shops in there, all have a wide range of curtain poles and runners, they might have what your looking for, as suggested before take in the picture.

Yes, I echo what Prenders said. We just had floor to ceiling curtains installed by a shop at Bobay. Not sure if they are double rollers or not,it was a turnkey installation, but they are heavy curtains that slide easily with no loops, rings or drawstrings. We used the shop that is the first on the right as you enter through the first entrance nearest the Ring Road. Very professional job, so I am sure they could advise you.

BTW as a side note, we first talked to INDEX, they wanted 7,000 baht just for the material (for an opening 4 feet wide by 10 feet high). I didn't bother to inquire as to the cost of the rail and installation. Bobay charged 1800 baht for essentially the same curtain, including all hardware installed.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I actually looked in Global on Friday, and didn't even think of Bo Bay - but after you mention it, I now remember they have a large curtain area. Duh!!! :D

Bo Bay is the large clothing market next door to Global House, on the Ring Road.

Thanks again for the suggestions - particularly of Bo Bay. =D>

Went there yesterday - 2.7m rail plus curtain made up in 30 minutes - 900 baht total. That is less than the cost of the rail(s) in Home Pro. :D
