We certainly have lost our britishness. We are the minority now and everywhere you go in the town i live there are clear signs that other cultures have took route. Even our town centre has a different look of festive light's to accommodate our ever spreading neighbours. I'm not saying it's like this all over the UK,but I'm getting totally .....d off with it. Like someone said on the thread if your from out of town you get a place to stay and money placed in your bank. The UK is a laughing stock and I've had enough of it. No wonder were in the **** and bankrupt.

Hmm, interesting post.
When you say, country, are you talking of UK or England?
How would you define an immigrant to the UK/England and how would you define someone who's English?
Why do you think I'm not free in my own country and why am I unfortunate to live here?
Where's your evidence to suggest that I will soon be a minority in my own country and how long will it take?
What's the ratio of English people to immigrants in UK/England?
How much money leaves our shores to the immigrants' Homelands?
Where are these main stream UK/English schools that teach Islam?

ENGLAND? UK? Who cares! A vast amount of wealth is sapped out of the Government by "immigrants".
I thought the Government is suppose totake care of their own population first!
Claimant unemployment above 1 million by Christmas is now a dead cert, as is unemployment at least above 2.25 million on the government's preferred survey based measure by next spring at the latest. It is still the CIPD's expectation that, depressing as today's news is, the jobless total will eventually peak at somewhat below the near 3 million mark reached in the 1990s recession. But too many more sets of figures like today's, plus the likelihood of many more job cuts to come.
Almost 140,000 immigrants settled in the UK last year, a fifth up on 2002. Immigrants given settlement because of work doubled to 29,600.
Just imagine the dole money being dished out!Must be astronomical #-o
Thailand got it right! =D> They dont allow foreigners work here. Why? because they take care of their own first The current labour force of 33.80 million, there were 32.83 million employed which was increased from the last year's figure of 31.90 million people.
MOTASI ! Who said We voted them in? I certainy never! But Do you think It would have been any different if The other lot won?
Uk have a good system, but it has been allowed to be abused.
To me The Uk Government have let me down.Thats why I am here.Even when i informed them I was living abroad, they reduced my pension.Even though I am not getting free medicine ect and other benifits.
All the time people hide their heads in the sand( re saints comment)It will just get worse!

I am a bit mystified by the recent posts. In what way are the questions posed by Westerby petty? They seem pretty intelligent ones to me, and need answering if one is to uphold the thesis made that England/U.K. has been taken over by pesky foreigners.

Where does Westerby indicate or even imply that he lives in the land of milk and honey, and that he believes the U.K. (or England) is so wonderful? He may well believe this, but I do not garner this view from his recent posts.

I lived in England for over two years between 1990 and 1993, and loved it. This is not to say that England is the land of milk and honey but it was culturally and mentally stimulating for someone from the first Dominion. The newspapers, university guests, museums, art galleries, parks, historical records and so on were absolutely stimulating and stunning.

I did not like the creeping political correctness in the U.K., or the loony left council in Lambeth which forbade the flying of the Union and St. George flags during the Falklands War (it was permissable to fly the flags of Jamaica and South Africa). However, the good outweighed the bad, and the liberal and socialist self-deprecators there who hate anything white are no better and no worse than their counterparts in Canada, the United States, New Zealand and Australia.

As far as the decline of the British economy goes, um, well, uh, I do not think John Major created the problem.

I must admit it was very hospitable and kind of the British government to continue to deposit child credit cheques in the Russell Square branch of the Midlands Bank every month for three years after we had returned to Canada even though I informed them that we were no longer living at Mecklenburgh Square. And, it was nice to vote in the elections for the Euro Parliament.

God Save the Queen !!!

You will hardly get a permit to work as a taxi driver.ect

Empires rise and fall, and the fortunes of countries wax and wane.

Britain had its day in the sun, now its empire (and captive market) is gone.

Some adjustment has been made and there has been some success in reviving the British economy - but there is no good reason why Britain should dominate the world economy, or western economies.

Blaming the decline of the British economy on migrants is a bit rich.

Many of these "migrants" were part of the empire and merely took up the option to reside in the mother country - much to the horror of the "empire people".

The world economy is swinging from the west to the east - the decline in Britain is part of that larger change.

I think most of the problem is that some British remember how it used to be and cannot adjust to how it is.

Excellent post. One could change "Britain" to "United States" and the post would still be valid. Both are (sadly) on the decline. Glad I'm livin here and not the USA.
