Dharma practice in Udon

Postby douglasrh » July 30, 2011, 1:53 pm

hello, I have been practising the Dharma based on the teachings of the historical Buddha, Siddartha Gotama for about 20 years now and would be interested in making contact with others who are similarly interested. My first 15 years were with the Western Buddhist Order and for the last 5 years have been practising more or less on my own.I first came to Thailand about 10 years ago to recover from an illness and also to see at first hand how culture had developed in a country where Buddhist had been practised for a thousand years or more.Unfortunately Buddhism as practised in Thailand has become a religion and one of the 3 pillars of the establishment instead of the way to ending of personal suffering. It would be good to hear from anyone who practises meditation and the 4 noble truths.
Best wishes Douglas

I'm a long time Buddhist, although not a particularly good practitioner.

I do meditate daily and would be happy to share some time with you. I sent a PM with contact info.
