Digital Camera Lessons ...interested !!!

Postby ottauk » November 12, 2008, 3:34 am

Hi All , I am moving to Udon in March and I would like some feedback if anyone would be interested in learning how to use a Digital Camera and software to get the most out of your prints .

I (or I should say My Thai wife and I ) will be running courses :

1) Starter Photography ..the basics , we all have to start somewhere.

2) Intermediate level ..someone who has been shooting for a while and need some help and guidance .

3) As I am mainly an action photographer , I will be running action days at various venues

4) Portrait sessions .. showing you how to set up model and the camera .

5) Setting up a website to show your newly aquired knowledge .

Photoshop instruction , learning to use the histogram ,Rules of photography to get the best results . Using the scarey M and using A or S shutter priority . Loads more .

So let me know if you are interested by adding you name here and I will contact you when I am in Udon .

Ottauk - I am already a keen Photographer (birds mainly (the feathered kind)), but would be interested in learning more on studio and action work. Field trips would be good as it's always more fun if you're not on your own. I have a Canon Eos 1DS Mark 2, canon 100-400 lens and canon 24-70 2.8 lens plus ex580 flash unit. I use Photoshop ,but I am hardly proficient - would be good to get some expert tuition. I look forward to you coming over and hopefully setting things up.

Hi Cueball,
Thankyou for your interest . Nice to see your using Canon and a 1ds , at that .

My Working kit comprises of : 1Dmk2 ( no intention of upgrading ) , 300 2.8 , 70-200 2.8 , 24-70 2.8 ..all canon 1.4 converter , 580 flash . and a light meter and have covered all types of sports with this combination with no problems .

I intend to arrange various sports sessions and give hands on advise . I can not show you studio work as I have sold my Flash units but I can show you , setting up Portraits of people or dogs ( and dogs in action )out side with reflectors .

I am just trying to get the numbers that are interested and I will contact interested people when I come in March .

Thanks
Roy

Hi Roy (& all),

I am interested and have some kit, not as fancy as you lot with the 1D's though!! Canon 400D, Sigma Macro 70-200mm 2.8, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 28mm 2.8 (being my favorites), an a load of other lenses. I am currently going through a macro phase at the moment, as I get to spend a bit of time on the jungle, although I do like portaits and archetecture also.

I have CS2 and loads of plugins etc, however I do not have a lot skill with the software. I am also starting to play about with RAW files and Darkroom, is this an area you can provide instruction?

Let me know about any future developments for your classes/club/society etc...

Best wishes.

Hi Ron , Thankyou for your interest , when I am in Udon I will contact you again .

I had a lot of fun with macro in the past in fact I one a first prize at my first visit to a camera club , which didn't go down well . It was a hover fly coming to land on a thistle head ... 100 macro and a couple of cheap flash guns set in a home made scissor bracket .That was in my Nikon days .

Good luck .. perhaps you could show me some

I'd be interested if you're still planning on moving to Udon.

I've got a Canon PowerShot A640.
