I understand that the New York Times isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I thought Bill Keller added some words of wisdom on the economic front in his column at

The end of his article has shades of many forum conversations about the health of the world/individual country economy:

A good article, one of the most easily read and accurate observations I have read on the economic and political problems besetting the USA - with just a little imagination it can also be applied to a number of other countries!

Yes, i thought it was pretty good too. Maybe why in Italy they have appointed a non-politician as the new Prime minister? Maybe they realise that a time comes when 'political dogma' has to give way to sanity.
