Just a short note, the daughters school is closed to day to allow the influx of strangers to stay so that they ( the strangers ) can attend the fair, which if judging from past years is a load of B******* and the Thai Tax payer pays for it.................Amazing Thailand is living up to its Title simple amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its you that deserves the "Simply Amazing" title KP. It may have escaped your notice but all the attendees were Thai teachers from around Issan, hardly strangers. I would have thought you were more likely to qualify for the "strange" description than them. I had a group of them staying at my house, as did several of my neighbours, and it was surprising, considering they had come from all around the region, how many knew each other from their days at university. Many an old friendship was reignited from this meeting .You describe the meetings of past years as "a load of B****. I presume from that, you must have attended them? As the last three were held in , respectively, Ubon Thani, Korat and Khon Kaen , you spent a lot of time travelling to listen or see, a load of B****. Or is it you, that is talking a load of B****, spouting about something you appear to know little or even nothing about? :-"

Thanks trubrit for the heads up on this. It certainly was chaos around town for a couple of days.

Actually Trubrit, I was commenting on the amazing part where the Thai tax payer was paying for what is a holiday with pay for Teachers, which in the main does little to improve teaching or the scholastic improvements of the students. As for attending I was invited to one and attended the other, but found it was not worth my time or effort.
As far as being uncaring let me assure you that , I do know what I am talking about .
Secondly, in relation to strangers I was of course referring to strangers to the population of Udon not to each other .
But then if you READ the post without attempting to criticise, then you may have read that as well.
Have a good new year, I can recommend a good optician.

Yes, many many people were in Udonthani these two days, wife's sister and her husband, both teachers came to the Education Fair, in tow were 12 little Boyscouts, they all stayed at our house, I will say it was a pure joy having them all, they were all very well behave and cleaned up after themselves, Hmmmmm!! I guess I would to if my teacher was near by. Other than that TRAFFIC things were great for all those two days, Van drivers were PLEASANTLY surprise at UD Town/Center Point they were give Bt200 each for bring the Scouts there to Eat, :D :D \:D/
