I think its a win for Yingluck but a slim one , might be heading for either a coalition , a coup , a civil war , arnachy , or peace n good will with a stable Thai government and economy ... OR A COMBINATION OF ALL - EXCEPT THE LAST ONE !!

Which ever way it goes nowt will change quickly ... tho at some point the Sh*t will hit the fan bigtime .

Mash ... order order order in the emporium or i will be forced to remove the right honourable gentleman.

As a consequence of the absent voter facility this weekend, the government has declared a countrywide alcohol ban from 6.00pm this evening until midnight tomorrow, The same as next weekend when full voting takes place .

Election prediction

of course, while the ECC states the early elections went off nicely, they also ruled that people who had registered for the early voting who did not participate would NOT be eligible to vote this Sunday.. One BKK Post article mentioned that up to 500,000 people might be affected.. How many of these folks do you think might be from Peu Thai strongholds???

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/244429/pnet-ec-disenfranchised-500000-voters

As many as 500,000 eligible voters lost their right to vote because of a misunderstanding caused by the Election Commission's poor public relations and an outdated regulation, the People's Network for Election in Thailand (Pnet) said on Tuesday.

It said these people had registered in 2007 to vote in advance outside their home constiuencies and had not been properly informed they needed to advise the authorities if they intended to vote elsewhere this time.

They had not voted last Sunday in the area they were previously registered, and as a consequence they were now denied the right to vote on July 3.

The Asian Network for Free Election (Anfrel) also criticised the EC for this oversight, but said advanced voting was, in general, well managed but safeguards needed to be put in place for this weekend's voting.

Pnet committee member Somchai Srisuthiyakorn said the people disenfranchised had registered to vote in advance outside their constituencies in the last election, but had not withdrawn their names from the list of advance voters, not knowing that they were required to do so by an EC regulation.

Election prediction

Postby PRichard » June 29, 2011, 4:45 pm

Most polls predict Ms. Yingluck to win. Not me.

When one wants to serve the country he/she would normally first becomes involved in politics on local and national levels. He/she would start expressing his/her opinions on issues that affect public welfare way earlier before the big voting day. Prior to a general election he/she would expose his/her ideology about how to govern and how to bring about changes in current government policies/plans in order to benefit the country and to improve the lives of its citizens.

Until about a month ago I have never heard of Ms. Yingluck, and that she is the younger sister of Thaksin, the corrupted politician. Also, prior to the announcement of the election I have never heard of Ms. Yingluck giving her opinions on anything relating to local or national issues of Thailand.

And now she is running to become the head of the Thai government. In all seriousness I do question her motives and qualifications. Does she really have a personal conviction to become a public servant? Does she really understand how a government works? Does she really have her own visions and idea to bring about changes on local, national and international levels? Does she really have a will to serve the country for the benefits of its citizens? Does she really realize that there are major differences between running a government and running her family real estate development company? The list goes on.

And if she is eventually voted by the parliament majority to be the next prime minister of Thailand, I think Thailand will have no one to blame except those citizens who support her and her party.

I heard on a TV news one evening that if Ms. Yingluck’s party does not succeed in forming/running the government from this election, the people who support the other party (who succeeded) are to be blamed and those people will be called “stupid” by a Thai viewpoint. Interestingly, the other party said likewise. I sensed there was a name calling game going on.

In light of the name calling I am amazed that how well Ron White, an American comedian, knows about Thai people. I am referring to the context similar to his famous act: You Can’t Fix Stupid. He even added that “stupid is forever”. I get a real good laugh every time I see the act. I think I will do the same for the upcoming Thailand election – laugh it off.

FYI (For Your Information) - I did support Hillary Clinton for President in her 2008 failed attempt. I am planning to support her again in 2012 if she runs. Yes, you can call me “stupid”. Ron White got me! Cheers.
