Up until about 3 yrs ago hard to find, but last time I checked Robinsons has 2-3 models to choose from. House wares department, 3rd floor ( I think), same floor as Tops market.

Correct Papa, 2 models there today when I strolled by.
Just about the best selection of coffee making equipment in town, but, being Robinson's, not exactly cheap.
I think the cheap one was about 1,200 baht.
For less than that (about the 1,000 baht mark) you can buy a blender with a dry products adaptor. Maybe not so heavy duty as a grinder specifically designed to do the job, but available from just about an electrical dealer in town.

About 3 years ago, I bought a refrigerator at Big C and they gave me a blender as part of the deal. It has a small attachment that can be used for grinding things. I've been using it since to grind coffee, nuts, etc.

So the answer to your question is no, you don't need to bring one with you. You can also buy dedicated coffee grinders and virtually anything else you want here in Udon.

Just bring baht. \:D/

I bought a small one at Robinson's some time ago. It was around B1500. They also had a bigger one at about double that price.

And if you're serious about grinding and a coffee snob (I mean connoisseur) you can pay 5 times this for a quality "burr" grinder at Starbucks.

Expensive, but I've had mine grinding away perfectly over 5 years now, and about 10 cups/day... Doesn't bash and hack the beans like a standard blade grinder. Anyway, not to everyone's taste.

I've cut down a lot as I've gotten older.

Or you can order a Hario hand grinder for about $40, which actually is a quite good travel grinder with ceramic burrs. Amazon 2 day would get it to you before you leave I think.

No problem...I am an admitted coffee snob. ;)

While you are checking it out, look at the Aeropress. Makes an excellent cup and does not weigh much either. :) Again, sold on Amazon with 300 filters for under $25.

One thing to remember, if coming from U.S., the voltage is different in Thailand so electric appliances from U.S. will burn out in Thialand without converter or dual voltage regulator.

Not only the voltage is different the hertz (cycles) are also different with the US on 110V 60Hz and Thailand on 220V 50Hz. You've got to be careful as to what kind of voltage reducer/converter you use as you must use a Step Down TRANSFORMER for most electronic items while a voltage CONVERTER may work just fine on other types of equipment. Using the wrong type of voltage reducer could easily result in the item being quickly burned out. Additionally, an appliance made to run on 60Hz will run slower on the 50Hz electricity we have here despite using a voltage reducer.

I learned the hard (expensive) way when I used a voltage converter with the battery charger for my power tools made for the US market. The charger promptly stopped working and was unrepairable here in Udon. The only solution was to order another charger from Australia ( $220 US) which was set up for the voltage/hertz here in Thailand.

Just a word or two to the wise.

One of the big pluses of the Hario is that it is hand cranked, but has good ceramic burrs and produces a nice consistent grind. I had an electric burr grinder I liked a lot in the US, so when I got the Hario, I ground some in the electric grinder, then adjusted the Hario to produce approximately the same grind. A year later and it is still producing a nice, clean grind with minimum fines.

It does take a couple of minutes of cranking in the morning to get the ground coffee, but it is not as bad as some of the hand cranked machines I have seen, unless you are grinding for espresso. Then it might be onerous and you could get out the electric drill to speed things up. ;)
