Can confirm Pompui the rest of the menu is just as good as I've eaten most of the things that are on it since I've been here.

Barstool.....we know that's you Boris. Give Glyn a call and he will pass on my number. Yes we are staying in Udon when we move.

Some good news for local residence of Nong Sam Rong, we have finally installed True Vision and will be showing all the best sporting events, I'm a big Rugby fan and it was the world cup that finally forced me to open my wallet (the smell, the moths but that's another story). I have also installed a 51" LED TV with a perfect viewing angle from anywhere in the bar.

Friday (For those following the Rugby)
3pm New Zealand (Hosts) take on Japan

Saturday
3:30 - Australia v Ireland (IRB)
6:45 - Blackburn v Arsenal
9:00 - Villa v Newcastle

Sunday (Calling all the Welsh)
After our cracking start to the World Cup, I'm offering a free egg and Bacon Sandwich to anyone who shows up in a Welsh shirt (No just being red won't cut it). Our next game is against Samoa at 10:30am kick off, lets get out and support our boys. (Steve if you read this - please come along I promise to make you feel welcome) That's not 'Steve sports bar', although he is welsh also!

1:00 - England v Georgia (IRB) - no you can't have a free bacon & egg sandwich.
3:30 - France v Canada (IRB)
7:30 - Spurs v Liverpool
10pm - Man U v Chelsea

Remember we have happy hours everyday with large Leo just 60bt and San Miguel just 45bt, so even if you're not local it could still be worth the 10 min trip out of town. We are exactly 3km north of Nong prajak lake.

Good Luck getting the Punters in Glyn, your place is so nice and quiet you could actually hear the commentary. Careful with those Islanders your playing, they like old style Rugby with BIG hits and plenty of passing and at a Rapid pace for the whole game. Good Luck :D

Glyn,
Your not going to get bloomin' patriotic and change the Sat game to Swansea v West Brom at the last minute are you?

It's nice to see someone actually ADVERTISE what matches they are showing. May be at some time in the future we could get a thread where all the "footie showing" bars could say what matches they are showing, and even perhaps try to show different matches.

Saturday sports line-up starts at 1pm with IRB world cup, when England take on Romania, then at 3.30 France take on New Zealand, which should be one of the best games in the tournament so far.
@6:45 Man-City take on Everton, then @9pm I will probably show the Liverpool v wolves game, but I will change if nobody cares and show the Chelsea v Swansea game, although watching my little Welsh friends getting their arses whomped could lead to some major piss-taking from Danny and a few other residence.

Sunday - Kicks off at 2:30 with IRB world cup when Scotland take on Argentina, should be a well balanced and exciting game. Just after 6:00 The Singapore grand prix starts.
@ 10pm is the QPR v Aston Villa game, which is the only premiership match being played this Sunday.

Hope to see some of you there.

John if you come in to watch a game the girls will turn the music off for you, but someone has to ask or they'll play music over commentary all night.

Looks like another fantastic weekend of sports at The Retreat Glynn, same as last weekend.

Better prepare myself for the flak during the QPR game though, especially when they stuff the Villa and creep higher up the table :-"

Doesn't look like my other half and the little one will be seeing much of me again this weekend, ....what a shame!

Don't forget guys we have happy hours every afternoon with Large Leo 60bt and Archa 50bt.

We're down to a 42"screen this weekend, after all those matches last Sunday my 2month old super-duper-all-singing-all-dancing-55"-mother, decided it had enough and went on the blink, it's in for repair, no such thing as replacements or even a loan during repairs (B@$t@rds), and hopefully it'll be back on the wall by next weekend.

Dokya see you later

Quiz night tonight, and we've got a chicken madras on the menu, which I'm told is gonna be ****ing delicious (courtesy of Angela & Danny). Don't forget the food is out at 7:30 and all cleared away by 8pm, this is to entice early arrival so that I can organise the teams and get the quiz off the ground at a decent time.

2:30 today is the England v Scotland game. We'll be showing the Everton/Liverpool derby at 6:45 and then @9pm it's ManU/Norwich, happy hour doesn't finish until 7pm, so plenty of time to get a cheap beer in :-)

Sunday - Midday is the Wales v Fiji game, cheese & Bacon Toasty for anyone showing up in a welsh strip
6:30 we're showing the Bolton v Chelsea match and @10pm spurs take on the Arsenal.

There's no premiership this weekend, but we've still got 4 Rugby quarter-finals and a Japanese grand Prix to look forward to.

Saturday is really 2 semi finals of the Northern Hemisphere when Wales take on Ireland, followed by England and France, question is which team will be left standing to take on the best of the Southern Hemisphere in 2wks time.

Saturday Promo - The 2-Man-Attack, 5 bottles of Leo (Try) and 2 Hungry-man Burgers (Conversion).
Standard price 700bt, promotion price 500bt

The 2-Man-Attack, is a team effort best tackled with two men coming at it from slightly different angles, both helping each other to complete the task and making it across the line easily. However there is nothing stopping an individual from attempting a 2-Man-Attack, he may find it a little tiring, and may even feel sick once across the line, plus there's a good chance he won't complete the conversion.

Promotion starts from 12 mid-day and orders must be placed and paid for by 2pm, what you can't drink/eat you can take home.

I'm back from my travels, even got caught in the floods (Near Lopburi) and my motorbike seized up, frightening stuff, but still all adds to the adventure.

So back to writing up the weekend sport...

There's not too much to shout about this weekend, we got the F1 qualifying stage in Abu Dabi at 8pm, but if there's anybody wanting to watch the Shrewsbury v Newport (FA cup 1st Round) from 7:30 then that will take preference.

At 10pm I'll be showing the Wales v Norway match.

If I've got more than 4 heads after midnight I will stay open for the England v Spain game which kicks off at 12:15am.

The good news is I've been lowering prices, esp. on the drinks your wife likes to drink like spy red down to 50bt, Red wine - 50bt, and spy cocktails now 60bt.

JD is down 10bt to 90, and Sambuca and Tequila is now 50bt.

Have a great weekend, I'll write up 2morrows games later
