My mate just asked me what time Celtic kicked off last night?

"Every 10 minutes," I replied.

Matt it was mainly for Bob's benefit. The fact that a midweek 2nd div county cricket match could attract 1000+ crowd without the so called need to entertain by playing 10 overs a side and hitting every ball out of the ground. BTW Essex got the required "Bonus points" to get the ONE promotion place available. (30+deg in Sunny Chelmsford with no rain)

The reference to QPR NOT being rained off I'm sure you will understand (0 - 6)

You have to feel sorry for Feyenoord .......... knowing how much trouble Wayne Rooney has hitting the net, they have erected a 10 metre high net all round the pitch to make it easier for him =D> and now Jose has left him in Manchester anyway

"For Thursday's match, the capacity at the De Kuip stadium will be reduced to 30,000 and additional stewards will be employed, while a 10m high net will surround the pitch."

All as Statto says in the football, he, sadly, knows little about the economics of cricket... :D

United already bottom of their group.. :D
It was a poor game with a poor display by united.
That they lost to an offside goal was probably about what they deserved out of the game...
Great away point by Dundalk.
Good home win by the Saints as the before kick off favourites for their group, Inter Milan, suffer a shocking home loss to the Israelis...

Great away point by Dundalk.

Even more so Bob as they played 30 mins with only 10 men and managed to get the equaliser during that time =D>
First point EVER by an Irish side =D> =D> =D>

Good job Fergies not still in charge at Utd, the ref would STILL be playing Fergytime :-"

Fortunately I didn't stay up to watch the United game but I believe they put in a performance LVG would have been proud of !
Two defeats on the trot ....has the bubble burst.....big game at Watford on Sunday now.

Well done to little Dundalk ! =D> Just shows what a little bit of effort and team spirit can do.....puts some of those prima donnas on 200k GBP a week to shame.

Wednesday 28th September 2016

Arsenal 2-0 Basel
Ludo Razgd 1-3 Paris St G
Besiktas 1-1 Dynamo Kiev
Napoli 4-2 Benfica
B M'gladbach 1-2 Barcelona
Celtic 3-3 Man City
Atl Madrid 1-0 Bayern Mun
FC Rostov 2-2 PSV Eindhoven

Barcelona came from a goal down to beat Borussia Monchengladbach and make it two wins out of two in this season's Champions League.
Barca, who beat Celtic 7-0 in their opening Group C game, trailed to Thorgan Hazard's opener in Germany.
Substitute Arda Turan fired in the equaliser before Gerard Pique bundled in the winner for the Spanish side.
Elsewhere, Paris St-Germain were 3-1 winners at Ludogorets and Napoli beat Benfica 4-2.
Luis Enrique had to come up with a rare solution to the problem of Lionel Messi's absence, with the Argentine striker missing with a groin injury.
His initial solution was to start Spain international Paco Alcacer in Messi's place, alongside Neymar and Luis Suarez in a front three.
The home side were not overawed, though, and took the game to the visitors, opening the scoring through Hazard's poked finish following Mahmoud Dahoud's pass.
If Enrique's initial tactics were misjudged, he made amends in the second half, sending on Turan, who made an immediate impact with a drilled finish after latching on to Neymar's floated pass over the top.
Pique completed the turnaround nine minutes later, finding the net from close range after Suarez's shot had been blocked.
The 3-3 draw between Celtic and Manchester City means Barca top Group C, two points ahead of Pep Guardiola's side, who they host at the Nou Camp in three weeks.
Celtic claimed their first Champions League Group C point as Pep Guardiola's perfect record in charge of Manchester City was ended with a draw in Glasgow.
The hosts led twice in the first half, Moussa Dembele diverting in Erik Sviatchenko's header and Kieran Tierney forcing an own goal by Raheem Sterling.
Fernandinho's strike brought City level first time and Sterling showed composure to net the visitors' second.
Nolito equalised for the visitors again after Dembele had netted on the turn
Like Barcelona, Paris St-Germain got off to a bad start in their away game against Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad with a Natanael curled free-kick giving the home side the lead after 16 minutes.
PSG, who drew their opening game at home against Arsenal, were struggling to get into the game until Marco Verratti unlocked the home defence with a neat pass to set up Blaise Matuidi to level just before the break.
The French side were much better in the second half and claimed victory thanks to an Edinson Cavani double - the first a flicked header from Angel di Maria's free-kick, the second a close-range finish from Lucas' cross.
PSG are level on four points with Arsenal, who were 2-0 winners over Basel on Wednesday.
Arkadiusz Milik scored his third Champions League goal and Dries Mertens hit two as Napoli established themselves as firm favourites to progress to the last 16 with a comfortable victory over Benfica.
Captain Marek Hamsik gave the Italian side the lead in the first half, glancing a header in from a corner.
A three-goal burst in the second half ended the game as a contest as Mertens fired home a free-kick and then finished from close range, either side of Milik's converted penalty for a foul on Jose Callejon by the visiting goalkeeper.
Goncalo Guedes scored a brilliant goal for the Portuguese side before Salvio added a second consolation goal with a neat finish but they were no match for last season's Serie A runners-up.
In Group B's other game, Viktor Tsygankov earned Dynamo Kiev a point at Besiktas, who had taken the lead through Ricardo Quaresma.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Well it certainly worked =D>

Fell asleep THREE times before finally giving up and going to bed at about 75 mins ......

perhaps it's because passing the ball first one way and then the other across the back line containing at times 7 or 8 players just doesn't get the commentators exited enough to change the tone of their voice?
I did wake up in time to see either the second or third showing of the goal ......... commentator must have got a little bit exited, but looking at it, I'm not too sure why :-"

Nail biting stuff in Group E. Just about anyone can still qualify. Monaco look prime favourites though as they head the group by a point . Spurs are currently second & look like battling out that spot with third placed Bayer Levkn, but bottom placed CSKA are only a win away from top spot..

It looks like it will be Bor Dortmd & Real Madrid going through from Group F as they are both locked at the top 4 points ahead. Sporting look like going to the Europa..

Leicester look through already. 5 points clear at the top of Group G. Copenhagen & Porto are locked in second spot.

Group H mirrors Group F with Juventus & Sevilla 4 points clear & Lyon looking at the Europa while Dinamo Zagreb are yet to salvage a point.

Two horse race in Group A as The Gunners & PSG locked at the top on 7 points. Most interesting thing might be who can manage the Europa place with both Basel & Ludo Razgd languish on 1 point - although last night's thrashing of the Bulgarians gives the Swiss the goal difference edge..

Nothing like so clear cut in Group B, with Napoli top on 6 points, Besiktas next on 5, followed by Benfica on 4. Only the surprised bottom placed Dynamo Kiev look out of it. The away wins by Benfica & Besiktas last night have made things nervy for Napoli.

Barcelona look comfortably in charge of Group C with a perfect score & a goal difference of +12 after only 3 games. Citi bought back to earth last night away in Spain still hang on to second spot by a point from Bor Monchengladbach. Celtic again making up the European numbers..

Atl Madrid continue their perfect start as well, condemning the mighty Bayern to 3 points behind & just second spot. It is by a clear 5 points to them below them though so little fear of not qualifying. You have to feel sorry for the Group winner who will get the runner up from Group D in the knock out stages!!! :D
