I don't have a clue

also i really don't care to have a clue, BUT, it is nice to be informed that danger lurks around the corner every once in a while, helps keep the guard up.

whether animal world or human world, that type of location/venue, where testosterone and estrogen are on the menu and supply and demand comes into play, along with economics of human world, danger will always be lurking. also the occasional nut case at anytime, anywhere, must be considered.

throw in a little alcohol, to blur the thinking and heightened the danger level, and you know why most don't visit this type of location/venue. unless in a group, or leaving at the very 1st sign of trouble.

though in a perfect world, this wouldn't be a concern, but in our little practical world, i don't venture into the drinking pond with dangerous, unknown animals. unless of course there is lots of ganga, as i have never seen a violent pothead, :guiness: :guiness: :guiness: :guiness: :guiness:

Personally i would like to know the name of the bar if this supposed attacker is so well known to everybody. My choice where I drink and also to drink in a safe environment.
No mention whether cctv is installed or not in this complex.
Maybe will have to wait for nearly 2 weeks when next in town at night to visit and find some 'loose lipped women' to fill in some of the blanks that this OP has not filled in. 8)

agree, that would help us avoid such incidents, though in that venue, closeness of bars and ease of entry or roaming of dangerous people doesn't help. for myself, i simply avoid at times i consider dangerous, 99 % of the time.

CCTV doesn't help, as most, (don't know or care if applies to this situation), are only concerned about compensation. it seems only those who can't buy themselves out of trouble, actually get arrested. most victims are too impatient to file criminal charges, wait for a verdict, then file civil suit for compensation, especially if none to be had. i get the impression that the legal system here is for hard core criminals with no connections, or soft core criminals with no money to compensate. then we have this situation, which may fall in between, if the above two options aren't exercised.

it is strange, if CCTV shows a crime, if the victim doesn't follow thru, the authorities seem to have no interest in pressing charges. unless high profile or advantageous to career/pocket. i know i'm generalizing, but that's the impression i get. 8)

i have never seen a violent pothead - LA,

The would-be gangstas at the high school where I work all use ganga as do some of the early twenty-somethings who wait in hiding after school to take i-pods, cell phones and money from younger students. Prior to engaging in this activity, the pot-heads can be seen smoking up on the park benches just beyond the boundaries of the school.

Furthermore, many hardened criminals used ganga among other drugs prior to, and after, committing some crime. The idea that ganga is somehow a 'peace' drug is not borne out in reality, at least not in Toronto.

inflation/economics is effecting every business sector.    can't imagine would some good buds cost today, thought it was expensive 10 yrs ago, tho mine were always free, almost. would never waste that much money, even back 35 yrs ago, for a simple stimulant, life is stimulating enough. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :fryingpan: :fryingpan: and if not having the money, commit a crime for it...............hmm, where are the parents???????

While I might be privy to some, I am not privy to all and any comments in the light of a possible invistigation by the upholders of the law would be counter-productive.
Things happen and in many cases we will never know, the full story.
Blabbing is not the answer here< I for one will not go and ask, as it could be an invasion of privacy which to me is paramount.
If a bar suddenly closes, then you may have the answer as to its location that is pretty well known and anyone would tell you that, but I am not printing it.
As to CCTV, I understand it is not installed as there seems to beno need the only bad element could be construed as customers......drunk or sober and in the past my whereabouts was not for public viewing as with many of us I think.
So we will have to wait and see the results and the outcome. The parties concerned are keeping quiet, so that means a lot, we should respect their collective decision not to speak.

Never understand this secrecy crap as to why the factual info will not be printed( ie which bar )and anyway when you quote if a bar suddenly closes, well seems could be half a dozen in there at anytime now.

So will wait for someone to pm me, otherwise will wait nearly 2 weeks when I will visit the area, and get the info.

The secrecy crap as you so eloquently put it Pompui, is in fact a method used to ensure that forumites do not prejudge too harshly and also to stop any possible interference in the investigative proceedure. Now you may state how in the hell can farangs writing on this site affect the outcome of any investigation. Well to be honest, I have no idea, however rather than second guess the Thai Police, discretion is always the better option.
As for the bar's location, or the people involved it is blindingly obvious they are not talking nor do they wish to disclose the location. So even coming to Udon may not quench your thirst for tittle tattle.

Pompui, I am sorry you feel left out of the loop as it where, but we are all in the same boat, incidents like this will be hopefully rare so full unimpeded investigation is required in order to ensure as far as it can be,it will be fair. It will hopefully also serve as a warning or otherwise to other people that this sort of violence will not be tolerated.

Too often forumites with all the best intentions in the world seek out and castigate both on this site and verbally in public an offender or alleged offender without knowing the full story, immense damage can be done to a persons credibility or even business through such talk, so although one sometimes has the urge to spill all as it where, prudence is the best way forward, as although the site is reasonably anonymous, I have no doubt that a legal action in respect of a Civil Suit would result in the identity of a particular member being disclosed. So tread carefully and be so very aware that on this occasion both parties are fully conversant in English and do I am sure have access to the internet, hence this site.

Sorry you feel the need to not print some of the factual info regarding this incident.I for one feel that I should have the choice where I choose to drink and if there appears to be an incident in one bar then maybe I would like to know where.
Maybe just maybe if I did not know the bar in question and while out drinking in the said bar an incident occurs with me then maybe I would feel pretty peeved that I could have avoided such an incident.
I am not the only one who did enquire for the info.
Jesus for fokks sake, this forum sometimes....................................................

And further to my last post, why has this post gone to 6 pages long,if the info you have now quoted was made known from page 1 then this post would have died a death.
Shame the other parties involved did not send a pm to BobHelm in the first place advising best not to give any info whatsover about this said incident until the court case or at best locked this thread.
Hope they can do this now and delete whatever fokking messages I have already posted!!!!!!!!!
End of rant and off to anger management course in Udon.

I do agree with a comment in the last post. Mods please lock this as it is not going anywhere, and until a judicial ruling has occurred or whatever, there will be no more news about this incident.

LOCK IT PLEASE thanks KP
