Alan/Glyn, if one uses foil backed gypsum to reduce heat transfer, is using insulation (especially in the ceilings) recommended or is it just redundant?

Appreciate the photos, am gathering info to build my own house next year in Laos.

I think it all helps foil under the roof tiles, silver linned Gypsum boards ,Gyprock In the attack , Qcon block double walls with cav if poss, green glass 6mm ,there are many things you can do mate they all help.
But not all out clients want to pay the extra.
But the house will never be cooled not here in Thailand !
Thanks again guys .

alan,

It's difficult to tell from the photos but are all the interior walls gypsum? It looks like in one of the photos showing the opening for the electrical switch that they are.

Also, what's the m3 of this house and a ballpark figure for construction cost - materials + labor.

Nice work mate.

Allan in the photo showing back of house there are blue PVC pipes showing. Are these from the bathroom and are they going to be left exposed?

alan, you mention the cost being just over 2.3 m. Does that include site prep (fill), privacy wall and out-building or just the main house?
