Fiber to the village?

Postby parrot » December 28, 2011, 4:25 pm

The closest thing I make to a bribe on an annual basis is an assortment of snacks (Ms. Cake) that I provide the TOT technicians each year. It's payment for their many years of fixing a multitude of telephone problems (stolen lines x a few, broken lines x many times, lightning strikes, etc)....all the sort of things that disrupt a good time at the computer.
While I was there talking with an old-time engineer friend there, I asked what might the New Year bring in the way of better performance. He said.....drum roll.....to expect fiber optic cable directly to the house before the middle of the year. Now that would be sweet indeed......I'll not hold my breath, but I give his report some confidence.
Living in the jungle isn't what it used to be.

Which little exotic village do you hang your shingle?
Hit 'em hard, hit 'em fast, hit 'em with the one they don't expect, and just keep hitting.
