Flooding around Soi Nong Bua today

Well it pissed down today and as per every year, the Soi Nong Bua intersection saw it flooding with water over the small vehicle door seals , Keep up the bow wave ! or ur swiming.

What did cause some concern for me, was the new sports complex under construction, is now totally under water and flooded big time. That area and entrance next to the Auydah Bank, is notorious for the build up of water and it will need a major storm water system to take on the rainy season , once its completed.



 

Wattana Nuwong Road was flooded also after that heavy downpour yesterday afternoon, I guess the drainage systems can't handle that amount of water at once. Looks like more heavy rain is on its way according to the BBC weather.

We live near the main Tesco Lotus and I heard the rumbles of thunder and looked out and the sky was black as night looking down towards cental Udon.
So I brought in the washing,closed the windows and waited for the deluge but NO RAIN ever came !
Also,went to Nong Prajak last night around 5.30pm.....just one or two small puddles,nothing major.
These storms are very localised !!

After 45 min here in Romyen Village there was 30cm of water in the streets. Always wanted a swimming pool..
